Louisville has just completed its first full season in the ACC. The are many Cardinal fans wondering how Louisville is perceived by its new conference rivals and brethren. We would appreciate your thoughts after a full year of Louisville being a member of the ACC.

Did you attend any games or matches in Louisville? If so did you like our campus and facilities and were our fans friendly? Do you think Louisville traveled well? If you have met Louisville fans, what were your impressions?

Was glad to see Louisville added. Much better , IMO, than WVA or UCONN. Better all around sports school that either of those. I doubt VaT would have let WVA in if they could have blocked. I still hope we can bring in ND full time and maybe one other school. Navy might help bring in ND. AT any rate , glad to see Louisville in the ACC.

I am happy with the addition of Louisville. I have always been neutral on them over the years. Though I am not a huge Denny Crum and Pervis Ellison fan, for no other reason than they outclassed Duke in 1986 to take away coach K's first opportunity at a title.

Solid addition and look forward to seeing both programs build a great rivalry.

I think it's a good thing. The traditionalist in me always wants to go back to how things used to be, but that's not possible.

Not only is Louisville a good addition, but having Rick P. in the ACC is good too. I think recruits look at the ACC and not only think Roy and K but now Rick. Also have to think that the conference with Louisville is always solid at the top three then add in Virginia (Tony B has done a great job) and ND and NC State along with up and coming WF should all continue to make the ACC one of the best basketball owner conferences.

I haven't been to a game UL was in, but I'm happy they're in the ACC. Like others have posted, I'm much happier having UL than I would be with UCONN or WVU.

Amen. I would have been sick to my stomach if we let UConn into the ACC.
I would have liked to see UConn get in. Mainly because I could see another Duke game without having to leave New England. UConn's athletic program, overall, is pretty solid.

Agreed. I think the program got a lot cleaner and less shady when Calhoun retired. I actually like Ollie, but still have a deep-seeded hate for UConn basketball

Fair enough, Denn. I wouldn't begrudge a Duke fan wanting to see Duke teams compete in their region. That said, the UConn athletic program offers literally nothing outside of men's and women's basketball. The rest of their teams would get destroyed by the ACC. On the flip side, Louisville has a solid football team, a great baseball team, and other sports on the rise. When you really think about it, Louisville over UConn is a total no-brainer.

Roy might not be a good thing for the ACC anymore given the corruption and blatant cheating that has occurred at UNC under his watch. The kids might not care as much, but the parents most likely hold that against the "university*" and Roy.

*term used loosely in reference to UNC

I get all of that Mark, but what does Pitt do outside of hoops and occasionally football? Louisville to me was a no brainer. I wouldn't replace them with UConn if that was what you thought I was saying. Over Pitt though? I might.

I guess the draw with Pitt is the Pennsylvania market, which is substantially larger than Connecticut. Honestly, that's the only real explanation I see for having added them.

I'm getting in late on this but was glad to see Louisville replace Maryland. Part of me hated to see an original league foe leave since there was so much history with Maryland over 50+ years. But they didn't want to be here, their fan base can get quite nasty which created such a bitter feel to it all that Louisville was a nice breath of fresh air. Cards are one of the top 10 all-time basketball programs. Huge pick up for the ACC.

I do not want UCONN in the conference.

Members of the Atlantic Coast Conference should be located in states which can boast a shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean. Boy, talk about an old fart!!
