It is a fair question. Although I guess you guys are so comfortable making shit up that you don’t care about truth or accuracy.
Yeh girl, I hate it when people make shit up..: like Sandmann, Border Agent Whip Gate, Russia Hoax, the fine people hoax, the laptop conspiracy, the Lab leak conspiracy.
I agree; I hate it when people make shit up

Dude. Neither one of us said one single thing that could somehow be read to mean that we did not have sympathy for what was going on in NC. I have a number of friends there and I still have not heard from a couple. We were just calling out Trump’s b**sh**, eaten hook line and sinker by the conservative mouth breathers here, that FEMA was not doing anything and that Biden and Harris did not care.
It was kind of cool on Stranger Things when twelve year old characters used the term “mouth breathers” but when you use it, it’s just kind of, well, sad All due respect.. Dudette

An out of touch, angry liberal that lives nowhere near NC, and gets her info from biased, corrupt sources, is trying to lecture people that live near the mountains of this state. Most of us, if not all, have some form of connection to what’s going on there.

Nothing lines up to what @SDevada says, but she doesn’t care at all. Then to make matters worse, her TDS is on full display when she starts blaming him. A guy who hasn’t been the President since January 2020. Let that sink in.

This shows how mentally unstable this broad is.

And again, you continue to regurgitate lies while moving the goal posts. The Dems “damage control” is simply trying to get the truth out there over the lies Trump is spewing that you and your little boyfriends here are devouring at an alarming rate.
Shut the fvck up about Trump. No one cares what Trump is saying. You can trust your little guys at CNN and eat up the press secretary's words like turkey on Thanksgiving, they're just as big of liars as Trump is, if not more. You have people ITT telling you about the experiences of people who they know, but you'll take datt's word because he says two people suck the government's ass. Everything critical about this, you call lies. It's like you actually believe that the government, this regime in particular, is perfect.

There is a huge effort to suppress negative reporting on this. You can't find anything to make the response look bad. I guess that means it's perfect. Forget the people who don't live in Asheville or Boone, they're all a bunch of liars.

Pre-season preseason record prediction

You've made that comment about a wasted year if Cooper plays the 4 over and over this offseason. Was it a waste to play these guys at the 4 at Duke - Battier, Tatum, Winslow, Singler, etc? All went on to play sf in the NBA. "Why go after Mal or Brown if you already had Flag to play the four ?" Because you need someone to play the 5, right? I'm sure they knew Pat wouldn't be playing many minutes this year even if he was totally healthy. He was going to need a development year after missing most of his senior season.

So why do you think Cooper shouldn't play the 4? He's too small? I think he can handle a Cade Tyson. Sure, there may be a few teams that play big, and in those games I'd be totally fine with Brown playing the 4. We just don't have any big guys behind Mal and Brown at all, so you better not have foul trouble or ever get tired.

"Kon was getting blew by at CTC so what sf is he guarding ?" What position do you think Kon should guard? I suggested he could potentially guard a 4 at times and you responded by saying he was getting blown by at ctc. So, would he be better at guarding at 2? I'm confused by that comment.
Because cooper has stated several times he doesn’t want to play the four . Just like Flip not wanting to play the five . Because Kon can play the combo guard if needed . He played pg in high school and sg . This is why I said play Cooper limited at the four . Name one team that will role out a from court of 7-2, 6-9 and 6-9?
You start Mal and Brown to let Brown cover Mals mistakes why he learns . Foul trouble happens then switch Brown to the five and Cooper to the four with either Evans or Mason to cover at sf . What happens if Flag gets into fouls trouble at the pf spot ? Then who do you bring in at pf ? Big pat had already committed to play for Duke so you had a center already prior to Mal committing and Brown .
Duke will switch a lot so as long as Brown and Mal are manning the post it doesn’t matter who blows by Kon you have length and rim protection to make up for it .
So let’s say you start Mal, Flag, Kon, Foster and Proctor. Who’s your back up pg and pf? Sion and Gillis? You got Brown coming off the bench for Mal so that leaves you Evans to float between sg and sf .
I’ve listened to posters on here say the same thing they said about Power and Stewart like they are saying about Kon this year . How did that pan out ?
Notice I also say over and over that the ASU game will show us more about this team .
And just for giggles what position did Winslow. Singler and Battier play when Duke won it all in 01,10 and 15 ? SF.
Singler had Thomas and Zoubs
Battier had Boozer and Dunleavy
Winslow had Amile and Okafor .
Tatum if you want to add had Bolden and White and Obi oh and Amile and Javin .

Week 7 - Duke's first off week

There's such an emphasis these days on people in sports media celebrating their correct predictions -- it's self-serving and narcissistic but it's also the most direct way to tell readers/subscribers, "Hey, look, I was right, I know what I'm talking about!"

It annoys me and I try to avoid it ... but I'm not batting 1.000. And this is going to lower my average.

The other side of this is, to borrow phrasing from Duke’s former men’s basketball coach, the Blue Devils are coming to the end of an energy cycle.

Duke’s grind of fall camp bled into six straight game weeks. Three of those were on the road and this will be the fourth night game — and keep in mind, that’s not counting the Middle Tennessee game that took about five hours because of a weather delay.

There would be a human-nature element of looking forward to getting rest on the other side of this game, which is why Duke is battling some human nature along with the Yellow Jackets.

“I do think our guys have shown maturity this week in how they’ve done it,” Diaz said. “Now, ultimately we’ve gotta go play like it on Saturday.”

Those were the last 4 paragraphs from the preview for the GT game. There was obviously a difference in how Duke prepared to play last week and what happened last night. To me, the offensive struggles are a concern, but my biggest takeaway remains that Duke just ran out of gas. It's not an excuse, they shouldn't be let off the hook for losing what was a winnable game; but you can only do so much to combat human nature.

Duke's first off week comes at a great time. Based on last night, the Blue Devils need rest more than anything else. They'll take this week off and come back against a sputtering FSU team on Oct. 18.

We'll still have some coverage this week -- albeit, basketball media day is in Charlotte in the middle of the week and the Boozers are announcing, so hoops will have some priority. I'll have PFF grades of last night's game on the game thread tomorrow, and sometime later in the week I'll put some PFF mid-term grades in this thread.

No one said that FEMA wasn't doing anything. What we said was that this administration's response has been abysmal. They waited 6 days to take serious actions. They pretty much acted like money was going to fix the problems, bragging about how much money they had allocated. Until the 4th day there were less than 1,000 guardsmen in NC, and there currently is still a need for a lot more than the 5,000 or so in NC. Yes, idiot, the president does deploy guardsmen. The democrats are in damage control mode for a reason.

As far as Kamala and Biden not caring. Actions speak louder than words. It was clear by Friday that this was going to be a once in a generation catastrophe for thousands of people. Biden went to his beach house and Kamala went to live it up in California for the weekend while Americans were drowning. So by their actions, I'd say they weren't too bothered by it.

Do they see a lot in Murphy in practice than we see in games? Do they feel he has such arm talent that it will eventually pay dividends? I can't believe they "promised" him that he would start and they are stuck with that promise,
Lift this is what scares me. In the age of NIL, coaches become like contract negotiators too. All I know is Maalik commented after signing with Duke "I wanted to go somewhere I would play," and that's certainly been the case. Was the Murphy-Loftis preseason qb duel merely a charade? Did staff know all along Maalik would be the starter?

Whatever, we are 5-1 and I am thrilled with the record. Manny and Co need to get to work, as offense needs serious tinkering.

Time to move on from Murphy. He cannot run and avoid the rush. He throws the ball too hard. He does not, or cannot, read the defenses he faces. Throws to closely covered receivers. And he makes Duke way too easy to defend against. I have to admit that Hart was absolutely correct months ago when he stated that we whould be relying upon Loftis and/or Belin.

OFC
I have always liked Belin over Loftis but I have been disappointed we have not let one play. I am really struggling with 2 of the coaches. The OC is very meh and the special teams coach has shown he had no experience. We need a spark on the offense. Murphy is just to rigid in the pocket but on another board one of the regular commentators was saying that he sat next to Belins parents at a recent game and they said he is still recovering from his injury from last year. I don't know for sure but man a QB with mobility would be a nice change right now.
DI I appreciate the mention my friend. Actually I hate to be correct, but last nite was a definitive statement we need a dual threat qb.

I included surf's comments as well per Belin's injury status. I thought Henry was healed. That's a bummer when added to fact Loftis is being redshirted. How about at least giving Jordan Moore some Wildcat reps!!!??

Nonetheless if you'd told me we would be 5-1 (with the Bell back where it belongs), I would have signed off on it immediately!! Get back in the lab Manny. Tinker with this offense.14 points isn't going to cut it in ACC play!!

I really like Diaz and he's a smart guy whereas we are only fans, even Surf who clearly knows more than I do. But I have trouble figuring out why Manny won't give Belin or if he is hurt, Loftis more of a chance. Do they see a lot in Murphy in practice than we see in games? Do they feel he has such arm talent that it will eventually pay dividends? I can't believe they "promised" him that he would start and they are stuck with that promise, that makes no sense and will tear the team apart. They must see something we have only seen in glimpses so far.

I agree that I can't think of one successful college QB in the past 10 years who couldn't run a little. The guy Beck on Ga. is not fast but he'll move around a little and he of course has a much better offensive line in front of him.

Count down thoughts?

Think it went about almost what we thought for each player from an individual perspective. Kon/Harris shooting, Mal rim protecting, Coop do-everything, etc.

Really interested to see how we do tempo-wise and how Kon does on switches. Off the top, seemed like every scrimmage/practice video I saw CFOS driving on him every time. Understandable but that seems to be the easy scout on us if we plan to do a lot of switching. Mal will probably be critical for that reason.

Also, really interested to see how we go tempo-wise. If I remember right, Jon’s adj tempo these past two seasons were on the slower side. ASU game may give us some better insight.

I think there really trying to redshirt loftis so I don’t think he’ll be an option but belin ABSOLUTELY deserves a shot. As for brewer his offense has no flow or tempo. Its like watching an 6 year old play madden

I din’t care what it was for. Bottom line Trump did precisely what he is purposely incorrectly lying that Biden did.
You’re right about one thing. You don’t care. Just so as long as “your party” is in power.
You’ve allowed the powers to be to shape your mind and turn you into a hateful person.

At this point in the game, one is either an American or a Democrat.

Ridiculously devoid of context. The money you spent yesterday was not “taken” from something you need it for today. You’re also blurring the lines between refugees and undocumented immigrants — have been all week. This is how to foment hate crimes: lie — as in, you lie by repeating your conservative puppet masters’ lies from Twitter — and make desperate people angry. Like, do you vet anything you read? Ever?
