Saturday 12/14 Incredible Slate of Men's College Basketball Games

Not rooting for Clemson? We need some strong performances by our ACC brethren (well, except UNCheats) to boost our stock in the NCAA seeding session, as well as help recruit players who might otherwise want to go to the Big 10 Whatever, SEC or Big 12 Whatever.

Whether we win or lose against the ACC teams isn’t going to depend on their rankings, but wins and losses against rankled teams are better than wins or losses against unranked teams.

Jeff, valid points, but as long as Duke is not the team being upset, I usually root for the upset to happen.

On Coach K’s podcast, Manny said that this year he would be selectively filling the holes, a luxury he had because he has fewer holes to fill this year. If he is as successful filling those holes as he was last year (and he’s gotten off to a great start with Mensah), we should be really excited about next year and, hopefully, beyond.

DukeDallas these are the teams I am pulling for tomorrow:

Memphis (Go Nolan Smith)
Texas A & M (Go Henry Coleman III)
Ohio State (Go Sean Stewart)
Xavier
Butler
Arizona (need them to start getting some signature wins, a win against ranked UCLA is a Start)
NC State (down with Kansas and Let's Go ACC!)
Arizona State (Go Bobby Hurley)
Southern Miss
Louisville (down with Kentucky and makes the win over Louisville look better)
Illinois (don't really root for Illinois even though I've lived here my whole life, but down with Tennessee)
McNeese
Dayton
Connecticut
Oklahoma State
Creighton

Great day of games tomorrow! Time for college basketball to get part of the main stage as there really isn't any football tomorrow.

For Duke's sake, I will be rooting against all of the top teams: especially Kentucky, Alabama, Gonzaga, Marquette, and Kansas. Auburn I don't really care since we beat them and want that win to look as good as possible.

OT, but somewhat not OT

When did Governor Cooper make these remarks about the lacrosse players? I mean everyone knew they've been innocent since what, 2006 or 7?

I think it's good (better late than never) that Mangum admits the truth. The real question though is has Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson made public statements? And if they haven't, will they?
Cooper was the state AG at the time and exonerated them all.

Not Duke University's greatest moment that's for sure. I will always hold Governor Cooper in high esteem for declaring the lacrosse players "innocent", not "not guilty", but "innocent".

Every sideline shot I saw showed Grayson Loftis encouraging Murphy, or listening attentively. Never saw him with a disinterested look on his face or exhibiting a bad attitude.

In other words, he handled being demoted after winning a bowl a lot better than I would have.

I wish the young man all the best of luck and hope to see him on TV sometime next year.
We will be pulling for him Lift!!!
