Not true Datt. The response from the media, and federal government was slow. That’s undeniable. The local community and citizens from across the state were the driving force in the beginning. Then Samaritans Purse, a great organization, stepped up like they always do.

The folks affected will most likely need some government help. The sad part is the government knows they’re needed, which will probably end up being bad for the folks.

I have two kids of my own, numerous friends, and numerous former students in the mountains, from Asheville to Ashe County. I know what I’m talking about. Yeah, there are some inaccessible areas still, so I suppose “everywhere” was hyperbole. Sorry about that, snowflake.

An immediate, strong response from the federal government — which has happened and is continuing to — is still not enough. This is a once in a lifetime disaster for WNC.

The evidence is overwhelming. It makes me want to bang their (@SDevada and @Dattier) heads together, and maybe knock a smidgen of common sense into their warped, unhinged minds.
