I am not surprised Coach wants to leave Duke playing the way he did when he started. Pressure defense worked when he had Hurley ,Wojo or Amaker out front but not so much now.
Doubt he will change the D but hope he turns back the pressure and has the offense share the ball.

I mean it's clear he is going to ride Banchero and Keels to the end. Hopefully it is happy not bitter.

And when is he going to tell him that? And will he listen? The first scrimmae he took jump shots and played bad. The 2nd Banchero went inside and looked great.

I love for K to play the sound clip of Paolo back in November saying, “We gonna play like Duke”. Then asking where did that player go?

Coach K is the goat but he is set in his ways.
So no.
I don’t know about that. I know UCLA had to play two less rounds but they didn’t lose a game in five years. And their offense was poetry in motion I was never a math wizard but I’m pretty sure 10 is twice as much as five

I really don't know what's worse. If the way we played was the game plan. Or if we had a completely different game plan and the players just didn't follow it and K did nothing during the game to get them to actually follow the game plan.

Someone should show K some games with JJ back in the day. Then show him last night's game and how they used AJ. Then ask him if he truly believes he's maximizing the talent with this team.

Show him games of the 2010 team and the ball movement and the style of defense they played, then ask him if this team can't take anything from that.

Because right now it seems like the game plan on offense is Paolo and Keels going hero ball for 90% of the game and everyone else just try and find their spots around those two. Then defensively we just continue with the press defense even though we don't have quick guys and that defense isn't leading to any turnovers.

Sam Gilbert knew how to deliver titles.

Yeh those 10 national titles were a real hoot. How much Pabst Blue Ribbon have you imbibed today?
Nah KD, he probably would make sense if he was drinking. He’s this way sober.

To me this is the most frustrating thing with this team. This team is built to have such an easy offense.

Paolo is a good low block scorer. His game seems to fall apart past the 15ft mark. He is a good passer in the post, which is great because Mark is as good of a lob threat as there is in college basketball. Oh and we just so happen to also have AJ who is a 49% 3pt shooter, Moore is shooting 43% from 3 in ACC play, and Keels is a solid catch and shoot 3pt shooter.

Why the hell are we running perimeter ISO all game long with Paolo and Keels? Why dont we just run some good old inside-out basketball. Get Paolo the ball 15ft and in. Actually use Mark on a consistent basis. Lets draw up actions and sets that gets AJ the ball and looks from 3. I mean just go back and look at how we used JJ and Shelden back in the day. The entire JJ era was this offense running sets and motion to get JJ shot attempts.

Yet we have AJ just sitting there in the corner all game long. Rarely even getting touches throughout halves. We are running AAU offense out there and its unbelievably frustrating to watch. And I bet its even more unbelievably frustrating to play in, if your name isnt Paolo or Keels who are the ones that seem to be allowed to go ISO hero ball all game long.

The big thing I learned the last week is that Coach K stays up all night watching tape.

If he watches his own team, he'll see very little movement, players dribbling into the defense, AJ standing on the wing with his arms up (which apparently his teammates can't see) and a defense that can't keep guards out of the paint.

All things that can be corrected. I get the isolation stuff when you have superior players. But when that breaks down, have a motion offense to get things moving!

And for defense, I have not understood for years why Coach K keeps pressuring when he doesn't have quick guards. Pull the defense back and get more help on the pick and roll!

I have 1195 fewer wins than K so if I see it I'm sure he does.
