So what's everyone thinking about the game? I think UNC guards could be a problem, especially if they get hot from 3 like NS State did. However, I think our guards, particularly Sion and Proctor should give them fits with their length and strength. We have the clear advantage in the frontcourt, and I don't think they have anyone who can contain Cooper. As much as I would love to see a curb stomp, I think it's going to be a scrappy game that is tight most of the way with Duke pulling away in the final 10 minutes.
I'm thinking the same. It's going to be our defense vs their 3 point shooting. If we make our 3's, I think we curb stomp them.
I think if we have Brown back and he is 100% healthy, we could destroy them. Brown's ability to switch out onto their guards would bring a lot of trouble for them as they won't be able to make us pay inside.
I'm hearing Brown could play, but who knows if he will be 100% or fully conditioned. So without a lot of optimism, I think it's a fairly close game as they get hot from 3 but can't stop us much from scoring. We pull away in the 2nd half and win by 12-14.
Their chance in winning lies in hitting a lot of 3's. This reminds me a little of our 2016 (Brandon Ingram) season. We had no business beating them, but did.

They have to hit a lot of 3’s… a lot to beat us. As @BluePhil stated we are a horrible matchup for them. We should dominate on the boards and in the paint

UNC will be playing for their NCAA life, they have limited quad 1 games left and they need almost all of them. Duke needs to bring their A game for this one. Records don’t matter in this rivalry. I also think Davis is playing for his future, they will be highly motivated. Duke needs a great defensive game and hit the 3’s and FTs. Duke has way more talent as long as they play up to their potential.
You have to think that if UNC loses they are NIT bound at best unless they win the ACC tournament. On one hand, yes, they likely will play with urgency and everything on the line, and I expect they will play their best game of the year. What about this take though......Duke has the opportunity to squash the NCAA hopes of our heated rival! How about we do that?!?!

I really hate years like this. Because there's no winning on the banter side of things. If we win, they're like, yeah, we suck. But if we lose, they have all of the shit talking rights. Either way, I hope we rip their skulls off and **** down their necks.
I think we win, but by 6-10 points. I think it will be close most of the game. First half deficit at some point. They need this win to make the tournament and are desperate. A loss wouldn't shock me (rivalry game) but we should win. Brown may be available but I'm not sure this should be his first game back.
Was just looking at their roster. Unless they're making a lot of shots, there's no reason we shouldn't dominate the boards. They're very small compared to us. Our guards should just drive to the rim on them and score and/or get them in foul trouble. Ian Jackson is their starting power forward and only 6'4. The rest of their starters other than their center are 6'0, 6'1, and 6'3. Their starting center will be 6'10 with Washington if he's healthy or 6'8 (Lubin).

Yes. He got injured last Saturday vs BC and didn't play when they played against Pitt the other night. Lubin started in his place

I mentioned this on the premium board , Lubin and big Pat will be a good off the bench match up . Foster and Evans will be needed to hit shots .
I think this game becomes closer than anyone likes .

Has there ever been a game in the rivalry in which the talent discrepancy has been so big? My only thoughts are Antwain Jamison destroying us down low. The dark times. I think Greg Newton was our center?
The 99 and 00 hole teams weren't good if I remember, and then it seems they were bad during Doherty's time.
It was worse talent wise in 2010 Duke ranked 4th Carolina unranked with the Wear twins. Carolina had several injuries so they had no chance.
