UK offers Keels

Keels would be nice if we knew he was staying 2-4 years. Baldwin would be the difference maker on next years squad. Neither are likely IMO though.

If Baldwin picks Milwaukee over us that would just make a bad year ever worse o_O

I believe the offer came this late because Cal now knows ,without doubt, that Hardy will not be going to college . The chances of Keels landing at UK is probably very small but I am glad Cal is taking the shot. We need anyone that can make shots.

Steward is a good one. He should stay another year to be extra good. Wish we had him.

I know misery loves company and while you guys are suffering this season, I wish we had your record.

Steward or Williams or Moore declaring is unlikely but not impossible. All of those guys could possibly be second round pics if they go out strong. My guess is they stay; but you never know. Williams is a year away but he has showed huge upside; and Moore has played very well the last few games. the fact that they are on an average team this year might help them come back.

The thing I don't understand is that if Steward is not ready this year why would he be ready next year? Is he going to grow or turn into Henry Coleman? Same with Williams. They are both very skinny guys who may gain a few pounds but that is it. If the NBA likes something about their game and potential, why is next year so much better than this year? I guess I understand it more with Williams. I get they will be more consistent next year but why not take that chance now if you are an NBA team?

The D league within a few years will be just as important as AAA & even AA baseball. You may see NBA teams with a 1D and a 2D league team depending on when the one and done is over with. There are going to be lots of kids going straight out of high school to play and it will take more teams to develope them. Then there's overseas. If this far out prediction of mine comes about it's fine with me. There will still be college basketball. The best programs will still get the best players and keep them for 3 or 4 years. I will still be a Duke fan and to be honest with you I look forward to something like this. Pure college basketball and not a stepping stone for the elite players to go to the NBA. More deserving kids will have the opportunity to play college basketball. Justin Robinson is a great example. Will we fans be cheated out of seeing the eliteplay for a year? I will use Zion as an example and there are many more. I loved thst kid and his energy but what if the one and done did not exist for him snd others during his senior year. If we never had them would we miss them ? No of course not. Yes I know my idea is far from being real but maybe it just might work. OFC

Absolutely. And it wouldn’t hurt to get that information but the reality is he’s 1-2 years away from being able to compete against grown men in the nba.
Yes but that’s a different conversation.

Steward is showing up at 30 on mock drafts. Declaring won’t hurt him but able him to see where he needs to excel to play in the league. Hurt is gone . Even though his defense is not good . His offense translates to the league and he can learn defense there. G-league max contracts are 500,000 now.
It’s too early but I would expect Moore, Steward, Jalen and Hurt to declare with only one or two returning. And they won’t be Hurt or Johnson.

I think Steward will be back, but guys who play for Duke who show up at 30 on mock drafts generally don't come back, so it's a possibility that he leaves. Moore and Steward are keys to giving us experience on the wings next season.

True. They are also the key to having some bench depth. At the moment, it seems if either left the other would likely be a starter along with Williams, Banchero, Griffin, and Roach, with not much scoring off the bench or depth in the backcourt. They also both provide secondary ball handlers, which will be extremely important if we don't have a backup pg.

I think DJ will be back. I know he's at 30 on one mock, but he's completely absent on most I have seen. I also think he can boost his stock by running the offense more next year, and playing on a very good team and getting more exposure nationally.
