Hey everyone!! I'm needing some pointers for visiting Durham. I bought tickets to the Duke/UNC game Feb 1st. Just curious if there are any places you recommend eating at, good places to find Duke merchandise, etc.
I'm from Nebraska and bringing my daughter (13) with me. We fly in on Friday, and fly back Sunday morning so it'll be a quick trip but so worth it!!!

Thanks for any tips you have!! And Merry Christmas everyone!

The store in the student union has a very wide selection of Duke merchandise. It is usually pretty crowded on game day, so you might want to hit it the day before if you can. Depending on your food preferences, there are lots of great places to eat. Parizade is a casual, yet slightly more upscale restaurant not far from campus, focusing on a Mediterranean/Northern Italian type of menu. JuJu’s is nearby, and it features Asian tapas, and is a fun place to go if you enjoy tapas type venues. Food is quite good. There are a ton of other restaurants covering the entire dining spectrum along 9th Street, just off East Campus. A popular breakfast place (also on 9th Street, near JuJu’s) is Elmo’s Diner. They serve awesome breakfasts. There tends to be a wait of up to 30-40 minutes on weekends, but if you get there early enough, you get seated very quickly. Another popular breakfast place is The Mad Hatter’s Cafe and Bakeshop, right next to East Campus. Another good breakfast place is Grub Durham.

Hope this helps. Have a great time, and GTHCGTH!
