Senior Night tonight for Jordan “Goldy” Goldwire. This kid came in as a 3-star recruit in 2017 out of high school and every season he has played alongside some teammates who were more talented coming out of high school and moved onto the nba after playing one season at Duke. Regardless, Goldy competed with his talented teammates and has earned minutes on some talented Duke teams all 4 years he has been a Blue Devil.

Favorite Goldwire Game (2/12/19, the comeback @ Louisville): Duke was down 23 points with 9 minutes left in the game. A Sophomore Goldwire enters the game and is the defensive spark the Blue Devils need to ignite the comeback victory. Duke wins the game 71-69. Myself and a buddy were there at the game in person watching Goldwire, Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Cameron Reddish, Tre Jones, and the rest of the Blue Devils celebrate the improbable comeback victory. From this game onward Goldwire’s confidence soared and he earned more playing time.

Goldwire is a great defender, hard worker, great teammate, and great leader. He will more than likely not play in the NBA, but he definitely has a bright future ahead of him. He could have backed down playing alongside some talented players and just been happy to be on the team. Instead, Goldy has taken on the challenge every season and has shown he belongs with anyone on the Division 1 College Basketball Court. Goldy has earned everything while he has been a Blue Devil.

It’s been fun watching Goldwire evolve from a low touted Freshman into The Lone Senior Leader of this young Duke Team who seems to be hitting their stride at the right time.

Thank You for 4 Great Seasons as a Blue Devil Goldy. Enjoy your final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium and have a Great Senior Night tonight against Louisville. I hope your favorite memory as a Blue Devil occurs on the night of April 5th.

Much Respect ✊ Goldy

Would not surprise me to see him sitting on Duke bench next year or in the near future....as a coaching assistant. Does the NCAA allow for a player/coach? If so sign him up for next year.

He may see that if Roach and Steward come back and Keels comes his minutes will dwindle. Yes he would play; but he's not getting 20 plus minutes next year if those 2 return. So that could be a factor if he moves on. He's already given so much to the program.

He has played hard but has not produced. Got a lot of PT but did not get the results that justified his minutes.

Sucks for Jordan. Always sucks to lose on senior night. OFC

I feel for the kid so much, he and Mike Buckmire. Also, Matt Hurt who had his last game in Cameron tonight. I appreciate Jordan's trajectory as a player in his four years. It's sad that he may not get another shot at the NCAA tourney.

I have loved Goldwire since the first day he played for Duke and I saw that unlike most other guards we've had in the past 10 years, he could stay in front of his man. Then he learned to shoot a little and even made the occasional layup  As the years went by, Jordan became more than a scrub and finally ascended to being a starter.

I'm not sure he ever had a starter's talent. But he has a huge heart, is fearless, and appeared to be a good teammate.

I'll admit it, it drives me nuts when Jordan goes outside his comfort zone and drives into a crowd when he's got a better option (Hurt) on the floor with him, but it's part of his desire to win. Perhaps if this team were less flawed, there wouldn't be the temptation for Goldwire to do things he really isn't capable of doing.

I'm very proud Jordan Goldwire played for Duke and I wish him all the best if he decides to move on with his life.
