I know we all like to keep up with KenPom numbers to see how our offense and defense rankings are but I also like to keep track of team rebounding stats. Here is a good site for that.

That being said, we are currently #2 in team rebounding! Looking back through previous seasons, this is the highest we have been by far. Here's our rebounding rank all the way back to 1998 which is as far as the site goes.

Thanks. I would have assumed 2010 was a top 10 rebounding team. Wow! I'm shocked by that stat.

I will supplement those stats with our rebounding margin over the course of the decade... This is only our 3rd really solid year of rebounding this decade. The other two years turned out okay.

2018: 9.4 (4)
2017: 2.6 (99)
2016: -0.6 (210)
2015: 5.4 (28)
2014: 2.0 (120)
2013: -1.1 (219)
2012: 2.6 (84)
2011: 2.7 (90)
2010: 6.3 (14)

Rebounding has never really been one of the "Duke hallmarks" that people associate with the program (for a team like UNC, rebounding tends to be one the main things you think of as one of their tent poles). The numbers you post speak to that. It is good to see that a team that is put together this way is using that specific advantage, even if it isn't one of their traditional approaches.
