So, bitter Cal takes a shot at Duke after losing Zion

Not much else in that cranium ODD. That explains his limited vocabulary.

Seriously nice photo editing, sir. I’m enjoying your art.

Yeah, it is sorta empty isn't it, Denver?:) And thanks for the kind words. I'm a little better than when I started out about 8 years ago. Sometimes I don't have the time to put all the little touches to them, but I try to represent DI well with decent photoshops.

Here are some other old pics of Cal I made awhile back. Might as well go whole hog on him!

Great job OAD as usual. The Trojan one is the best LMAO!!

Cal is a non-coaching bum. Maybe recruits have just recognized he can't coach. I bet he didn't think of that

He's gone into March w/ enough strong contenders to earn my respect for his coaching ability, but whatever his strategy is here, it's dumb.

For all the practical appeal of getting guys to the NBA and into millions of dollars, publicly he is dismissing the idea that people have other needs and desires than just money. K knows and the guys he's recruiting know he knows that the really talented guys are going to get that fame and fortune; he just doesn't lead w/ that in his recruiting pitch. How Cal can think dissing the human connections and sense of belonging and sentimental but very genuine aspects of choosing where to go -- how he can think dissing all that stuff is a wise move that paints him in a favorable light is beyond me.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing!

Sad. Loser.

That's a pretty ridiculous interpretation based on what a UK player said the Duke pitch was. I'm sure it wasn't about never lifting a finger again if you come to Duke, and if Cal isn't selling recruits on what UK will mean to them later on, he's a fool.

Correct and I am certain Coach K is preaching to the young men the value of a DUKE degree if they choose to continue their schooling either off season a n d/or after their basketball days at the next level are in the past. This is what help sells the Duke brand, not some conjured up reach by Calipari. A little w(h)ine would go nicely with his cheese and sleaze.....OFC

Surprisingly I looked at the link in the original post and a lot of Kentucky fans are calling him out for saying it. Maybe they do have a soul after all? Nah...

"Do you know how badly we wanted to play Duke?" Calipari said. "I think that's why we played so badly against West Virginia. We wanted Duke so badly we couldn't see straight." - 2010

Yep, even though Kentucky played that Saturday night and Duke played that Sunday afternoon. Maybe Cal is Psychic?

Let's just take Calipari at his word and what he is arguing. His argument is a bad one. Not every player, even top recruit, at Duke or UK make it. The school should provide a strong support system - while in the NBA and after. And, I think Duke will do that. That's not socialism. That's creating a family atmosphere for a kid beyond his time at Duke. How is that bad? Nonsense.

Many of these players need more than just getting ready for basketball and the Duke program seeks to help them in other ways - and every program should seek to do that. They should provide a support system for finding an agent; for making decisions about the future; help with making good financial decisions (or pointing to people of integrity who will do that); etc. They should bring a kid back into the fold if he bombs in the NBA for his education or helping to get work, etc. (it doesn't mean he won't have to work). And, Duke players in the NBA should help out Duke rookies (being a sounding bar; advice; etc.).

That's what a good program should do.

People will interpret the 'set for life' aspect how they want. I expect stupid UK and UNC fans interpreting as Cal describes. I don't expect someone who I feel should be smart enough to know what it means being a baby like this. Cal really is letting his true colors show here....or maybe he's this ignorant. Either way, it's not a good look for him.

Greasy fat bastard now trying to back track saying it was "no ill will" toward any other program. Can't remember players names that are hurt on his team, and now can't man up to directed shade at K and Duke. Bitch move!
