Shane Battier headlines college hoops Hall inductees

I know this is somewhat old news in that we knew he was being inducted, but the induction took place this past weekend. Some good quotes in the story from Shane. I had forgot about him being cut from the Goodwill USA Team and how he used that as motivation the rest of his college career.

I'm super confused as to the comparison or point you are trying to make? Other than throwing Cam under the bus, which doesn't surprise me at all coming from certain "fans."

Nick Horvath used to be my avatar, I'm as big of a Horvath fan as they come. Back in 2002, our Sweet 16 massacre at Rupp Arena against IU, was the first Duke game I ever got to attend. We had 2nd row and got to the arena 3 hours early. I was a teenager, and we tried our best to get any Duke photo/autograph that we could. Just about every player wasn't willing to give us a second of their time (understandable,) other than Horvath, who literally had a 30 minute basketball conversation with my dad and I, signed everything, and was willing to take as many photos as possible. Horvath is a Hall of Famer.

I just assumed it was another in a very long line of your cheap shots at the kind of player K “used” to sign. You know, the slow and not cool kind.

I will give you credit, nice little story about Horvath.

I think it’s comical to suggest that every kid that suits up is sacrificing for the team he plays for.
Check out what Jay Bilas said about Cam over the summer on ESPN. It was a show analyzing this seasons rookie class. He didn’t hold back. Does that mean he doesn’t like Duke?

I remember that- talking about his draft prospects Reddish's heart for competition was questioned by Bilas. He made significant mention of Cam's last minute pullout of the Sweet 16 Va Tech game, and likewise questioned his absence vs Syracuse at Cameron, a game the Devils lost.

I dont look at the take at all on Cam's attitude and/or heart as a "cheap shot." Fans can simply make up their own minds, and thankfully have a forum like this to air their opinions. Thus,I dont look down on anyone's right to air their own views (especially Duke fans) here.

I truly think the nice story about Nick Horvath is REFRESHING, and proves what a nice role model he was at Duke. However the poster knows a great deal about basketball (respect his knowledge), and "Horvath should be in the HOF" was obviously sarcastic.....
