Patrick Baldwin’s dad fired?

I like the kid but he was injured, played in a poor league and shot poorly when he was healthy. What are they basing this on, high school? Its not like he played poorly at Duke. Imagine Jason Tatum playing like this at St. Louis.
Key word ,” Potential!” No one cares about how you played your one year in college it’s off potential where you get drafted and he’s full of it.
I mean I wont be shocked if he does, Im just saying its far from a lock that he goes in the 1st round.
He has a banged up ankle which no one really knows just how bad of shape it is in. And he had just about as bad of a season as you can have and did that against really horrible opposition. He also doesnt have great measurements or raw athleticism that teams will look at as great potential.
Just for comparison, Jalen Johnson actually put up solid numbers with his short time at Duke. He also had good measurements and is a good athlete. He fell to 20th in the draft.
Wouldnt shock me to see him drop to the 30s. And again there is a massive difference between being a 1st round pick and 2nd round pick financially.
And if Baldwin goes second round, can he even make an NBA roster right now. The answer is simple. Transfer to Duke.
He’s going top 20 I’ll put say 30 dollars on it . Kid was always oad. Combine isn’t even until when end of may ? Plenty of time to get healthy. Kid is going in the draft .
I don’t root against players who end up going elsewhere but Baldwin and his dad played some pretty dirty games in the recruiting process. Personally think it’s hilarious that Baldwin Sr got fired and Baldwin Jr was a bust his Freshman year in college. It’s sad that he could’ve been a part of a program with access to NBA level medical care that could have really helped Baldwin Jr get and stay healthy. Instead, he ended up where he did. I don’t really care if we get him or not. We are going to loaded at SF/PF next year. If he was a guard then his upside could be worth it. I have no doubt that he goes pro. His daddy now needs the money.
I thought the average fan knew he was going to play for his dad. It came down to him and Duke and he choose his father. Really don’t see the bad move here. It’s his father anyone on here would make that choice to look after your family .

Depends. There is a long way until the draft he can recover and individual team work outs go a long way .
Assuming the workouts go well. He's not exactly Zion or AJ. Keels would have led the nation in scoring in that league.
I don't know if this counts as a dirty game, but the word is that Baldwin told Duke he was coming and then a few weeks later, called and said he changed his mind and was playing for his Dad.
Lol did his dad call K because Duke just got beat by a team who K didn’t see coming hey it’s one and done
