Dukes defense is next level . Hope no one makes any one else mad. This is just special to see so many young kids buying in to defense . Oh, then there’s the poster that will be on sports center. Sion and Gillis are great additions to the team . Hate to see the game when this entire team is hitting shots .

According to Kenpom, Pitt had 18th ranked offense. Duke just held them to 47…incredible.
Impressive win. I only got to see the final 13 minutes I was traveling for work and finally got to my room. Man, this defense is nasty.
The only thing that scares me is we’re prone to offensive droughts

Great win! Defense is something else. If I am nitpicking it seemed we played a slower slower on offense than recent games (not sure if the analytics would show that or not). Also would like to see the staff use the bench more similar to how they did against smu.
I can’t say anything about Flagg that others haven’t said. The other starters were very solid too. All five in double figures.

Jon gave the bench a chance around the 10 minute mark and they squandered the lead. Albeit two of the points came from a turnover by Coop. Jon called the timeout around the 8 minutes mark and the regulars came in and Pitt never scored the rest of game. Guess Jon was sending a message to them by not putting them back in even with a 20 plus point lead
Gillis deserved more playing time the second half. He had a great first half and didn’t see the floor in the second. Another head scratcher for me.
As long as the team improves every game, I'm good. I do not want to see the peak in early January. Good Win. Flagg wants to improve his game. Great sign.

Some on DBR pointed out that Gillis is almost exclusively Cooper's back up. Agree he should have played more, but maybe Jon wants Brown to stay in the flow too. Evans didn't do anything but we complain when he doesn't play ha.
Pitt cut it to 11 with less than ten mins left (iirc) and Duke won by 29!! Good grief lol

I think when you’re as deep as Duke is you try to give your backups a few minutes in the first half and then give more minutes to the players who played well. Evans was on fire and didn’t get many minutes early in the season, but he wasn’t on last night and Gillis was.
We had back to back dumb turnovers and Jon called timeout after the score got cut to 58-47 with 8 minutes left. We won 76-47, they didn't score another point after that timeout.
One of our best games of the season. If I had to nitpick, we had too many careless turnovers or else we might have held them under 40 points.

In recent years we would give up 3,4, 5 backdoor easy layups every game. I cannot recall a single one in recent games. This defense is elite. I would love another shot at Kentucky or Kansas!
My only gripe from last night was the bench, Evans can be boom or bust which is fine but Caleb Foster is having an awful year. Not tearing the guy down but I don’t know what he provides
A stat I love. This is the first time Duke has won 4 straight ACC games by 20+ points since the 1999 season.
Foster has been inconsistent this season no doubt. We have to remember he had surgery this past off season so he has still adjusting to post surgery.
When Foster plays well, he has a quick 1st step to the hoop and is a decent finisher at layups. He is a Respectable 3 Point Shooter and he is a good defender.
