Off-season thoughts

Bring it . You want to be the best you got to beat the best and beating the defending national champs wouldn’t be a bad start to the season .

Some idiots will still say, “but Duke doesn’t play any competition” 😂

Proctor was so consistent but would vanish at key times. He could have changed that but decided to move on. Most mocks have him in the early to mid 2nd round.

Bull I can't disagree with you. 'Rese was a real liability 2nd half, especially down stretch.

Jmo but Proctor and Gillis were the biggest liabilities against Houston. Wish Foster and Ngongba would have gobbled up those minutes in the 2nd half.

I’ve always been a Proctor Supporter so I really hope he gets drafted next week and plays for 10+ seasons in the NBA

Didn’t he have a foot injury his senior year of high school? I know scheyer said he was on minute limitations this season so maybe still being limited

No, it was our 7’2” center playing without a rebound and having several potential rebounds slapped out of his hands….But I agree Ngongba should have been playing in his place.

I agree although Mal wasn’t alone.

Mal had some good moments but I bout threw up every time I heard or read him compared to Embiid. 😬

No comparison at same age and I seriously doubt Mal will ever be close to Embiid.

I remember seeing Embiid in that world vs US game and I stated right here that he’d be a 1st All America as a freshman, and got laughed off the board. 😂

I’m giving Mal a pass because he was More Productive in the game against Houston than both Proctor and Gillis were combined.

Also, Mal was dealing with Visa Issues that could have dealt with his mental state. Proctor and Gillis didn’t have those issues to worry about.

Regarding Proctor and Foster I believe in the old "you play with who got you there." Proctor could have come up big but he didn't. Also Foster was not exactly Mr. Consistency so he could have had a bad second half who knows. I was disappointed in Gillis that game. I'm not disappointed that we lost so much as we gave the game away. Still happy with the final four though.

Chris, for me you play who is playing better in each situation/game.

Any one who says Proctor outplayed Foster in the game needs their eyes checked.

Duke was 10 deep last season, use your depth. Foster is no scrub even though some talk as if he is.

Gillis dumb foul allowed Houston to score 6 points in one possession and he was a no show.

Flagg, Knueppel, Brown, and Foster showed up against Houston. Everyone else decided to stay in their hotel room.
