Off-season thoughts

ESPN has Coward at 35 in the early second, which was just updated after the lottery. Guess you don’t know which mock to go by. Proctor and James at 52 & 53. The mock was done by Jonathan Givony & Jeremy Woo. I know Givony has been posting a lot about Coward lately but still has him early second round which I find interesting. I think he will need a guarantee to be 1st round to stay in the draft.

The Tar Heel scouts are hyping up Coward. He has a 10 foot wingspan and hit 200 threes in a row.
Seriously Coward leading in 3 point shooting. He is testing at lottery level FWIW.

Kills men by the hundreds, and if he were here he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

Seems like we are putting all our eggs in the Coward basket so I hope he stays. Sounds like Sarr is going to Kansas.
Boogie Fland reportedly pulling out of draft and following Jon and some Duke players. Hmmmm. Averaged 13 and 5 for Cal at Arkansas as a freshman. Kid can play.

Well there’s your pg . Then there’s Foster and Cayden at the sg and Evans Harris at Sf . That’s two players about for every position with nine legit rotational players .

Fland has pulled out of the draft, and UF is offering him 7mil(Cheats wooing him too on social media). Meanwhile what about this 21 year old, Luka Bogavec from Europe? He is
considering the NCAA.

More than probably most coaches. We’ve passed the point of saying this is a clown show.
And the Sec and the Big 10 are the only ones laughing with their tv money and huge stadiums and alumni bases. But basketball schools that prioritize Nil to basketball like Duke or don’t have a D1 football team like Villanova and St Johns are well positioned too. Kentucky and UF would seem to have the best of both worlds. Uf still football first, but at least take basketball seriously unlike some of their conf brethren 7 million wtf

The way this is now the elite 8's and final 4's will only be the big boys. It will be big news for the mid majors to even get to the sweet 16.

Yup. The mid majors used to make up for their lack of blue chips with hard nosed, high chemistry, experienced teams.
Now any decent players are plucked after the first year. No more Florida Atlantics or George Masons in the Ff most likely. Hope I’m wrong

Clown show may be too generous. Making more than Izzo, Pitino, and Sheyer. Check this sh out. So our best player was making at least twice as much as our coach this yr. Alrighty then

I’m getting close to being done with college sports now. It’s coming down to who has the deepest pockets. I don’t blame the players, I would get mine while I could too. There needs to be a maximum dollar pool for each school, not who is the highest bidder.
A salary cap of sorts would make sense, though I don't know that you can really cap it low enough for many mid-majors to compete. The Yankees will always have that advantage over, say, the Twins.

Players should be paid, but if guys are getting 20 million in a few years I might as well watch the Knicks. Big turn off the way this is heading.
I'm not ready to root for the NBA, but I've already returned to following the team I grew up with....Princeton. Saw Bradley many times at Jadwyn Gym. He didn't get paid and didn't leave early. Ah, the good old days. Go Tigers.

At least the Twins have an equitable drafting system to acquire talent and develop it. They just can’t keep it after a few years. Mid majors as well as the Boston Colleges and Georgia Techs of the world don’t stand a chance in this era, from recruitment to retention.
I figured they’d have put guardrails in place by now to prevent nil being used to recruit high school kids and poach other colleges’ players. Should have known better

In two years we’ve gone from complaining that Nick Saban makes ten m a year and his players make zero ( as if 200k or so a year in training, nutrition, elite coaching, and oh yeh tuition was worthless) to dudes most of us wouldn’t recognize if they were sitting by us at the movies making more than all but a few future hall of fame coaches.
I guess these college guys won’t be playing defense much longer at this rate.
