Off-season thoughts

Foster
Evans
Coward
Cameron
Ngongba

Brown
Khamenia
Harris
Cayden

My hope is Duke adds 1 shot blocker/lob threat PF/C from the portal then Duke will be 2 deep at each position.

PG - Foster/Cayden
SG - Evans/Harris
SF - Coward/Khamenia
PF - Cameron/
C - Ngongba/Brown
I'd rather add another ball-handler.

I would like to see another big but I think it is highly likely the player would mostly be an emergency player that is willing to just play when have to. I am thinking a Theo john or young type at best. Plus boozer can play the big position if injuries and foul trouble occur. Not ideal probably from a defensive and dirty work perspective but would be fine.

Would like to see a forward similar to Gillis too that can defend multiple positions, rebound, and make open threes. I think Duke is fine from a guard perspective.

When would he play ? Thats my question. Or rather it will be hard to find a center or PF to be third string .

shey imo Duke would be able to convince the potential big to be a backup to Cameron similar to how Gillis was the backup to Flagg for the majority of the season.

Also, the coaching staff would be able to point out to the transfer the depth chart Duke utilized this past season at the bigs spot with

Flagg
Maluach
Brown
Ngongba

As Chris alluded to another big would be ideal because Brown unfortunately was injury prone last season.

I'm not worried about it. But it was being discussed on the other board. They can start at the 2 and 3, but they do kind of play the same position.
This 100%. Also, Scheyer didn't bring in another SG, so I don't see the issue with Evans getting feedback. If Scheyer brought in Cedric and another SG, I would be more worried.

But Khamenia is a stretch four so where do his minutes come into play if you get another big ? Coward, Evans and Harris can play the sg/Sf spot . Like stated above what if Wilkins reclasses or Hawthorne commits? Thats a PF or a SF even if both are projected to need time to develope .

Pat/Brown
Cameron/ Khamenia
Coward/Harris
Evans/ Harris
Foster/Cayden

I agree with another ball handler especially without a proven pg on the roster at the college level but to get another big you’re pretty much asking him to come but he won’t see much time . There are like 25 unranked centers still in the portal so why it’s not far fetched , seeing any type of big more then a developmental player type coming ain’t happening imo.

Khamenia can play the 3 or 4. He is similar to Tatum/Ingram/Flagg with his interchangeability at the forward spots.

Our chance to win a title was this season and it slipped from our grasp. I hope we can reload and make a run but I am tempering my expectations for another FF run or title.
I said the same after ‘99, but we managed to win 3 Nattys after that. And if i died tomorrow, i would go to my grave saying our 2 best teams were the ‘99 team and this year’s team. You just never know. From where I’m sitting now (not dead yet), i think we’ll be in the mix. Remember, last year at this time we were fretting that Flagg didn’t have a lot of support in that Tulane kid and the guy from Wisconsin with the unpronounceable name…

Chris, exactly. Two really good coaches (Vic Bubas and Bill Foster), combined to go to four FFs. K won our first on his fifth trip. Yes it's extremely hard. Jon, IMHO, will win multiple natl titles. His three year accomplishments are amazing.
