That's a reeeeeeeeally high bar.
I don't know... with Leonard Hamilton's retirement, the average age of college basketball players dropped by a year and a half.
I really enjoyed this team. I had become jaded and don't particularly enjoy hero ball. Which is why I avoid the NBA. But these guys were special and played great team basketball. Kon, Coop and Brown had a lot to do with that. I've been a bit negative this week so wanted to put that out there.
I have heard a ton of stupid crap from State and Cheat fans this week. Gotta love living in NC.....
Cameron Boozer is just as good as Zion and Cooper. Cameron Boozer went toe to toe versus Cooper over the years. Have some faith fellas. Man it’s like we will never have a great team again because we are too young with 5 stars or don’t structure a team a certain way with more 3 and 4 stars that stay longer. I trust Jon and how he wants to build a team. I just want to put the best team out there that is possible either with returning players, portals or top recruits.

Don’t think anyone is really being negative. It’s just hard for a team to come together in a years time and achieve the ultimate goal. Next year Duke will still have size and length but the question is will the shooters be placed around Cameron to let him do his work down low and pull double teams off of him? This is where big Pat and Brown are crucial in the frontcourt . You’re switching defense for offense or offense for defense . You need Evans knocking down three’s along with who ever is at the SF spot pulling guards out to the perimeter allowing the lanes to open up .
I agree 100%, let’s see how the roster works out first. Trust me I want the whole team back but won’t happen. It’s Jon job to construct a roster that best suits him. I liked how it went last offseason maybe he will do it again. I trust Jon and the people around him to put the best team on the court next season. Dominos will start to fall soon enough. Also, I wasn’t trying to say anyone was being negative. Everyone has his or her opinion which is great. There is no best way to form a roster. Right now it’s easier for Duke to replace 1 and dones with more 5 star recruits than getting a big time transfer. Realistically Cooper and Maluach were probably the only 1 and dones going into last season until Kon blew up. Duke usually has a player that does that each season, last year it was McCain.

I was just saying on the negative part . But I also agree. I also think if Jon and staff can bring in a top notch pg it allows for Foster to be a back up and continue to play off the ball and Cayden to adjust at the college level taking some pressure off him
Personally, I could never compare Cooper to Zion. The games are totally different, and I do not know if really was in the best interest to make Cooper to focal point every possession. Kon had the ability to be a that first option either off the ball or off the dribble. In college, just give Zion the ball and get out of the way. He was bigger and stronger than his opponents.
Just my opinion but Cameron is not cooper or Zion so we need to tamper this expectations about him some. Now Paolo is a really good comp. Really good
Paolo was really darn good too his Freshman season and lead Duke to the Final Four. That comp is pretty good. Hopefully Cam Boozer can have the same type of year.
Might be a season similar to this one. Start off learning to play together, lose a few close ones, then wipe out the ACC.
I agree with Kon. He proved himself the way he played inn the ACC tourney when Coop went out.
My way too early knee jerk response. Unless we have some really good portal players, combined with some returning guys that improve their games, we will be down compared to the season we just had.

Yeah, I have been wondering the same. I kinda wish they would just rip the band aid off and announce everyone's plans in one presser. I know that's not how it works though. I am feeling like we are going to lose the guys we expect to lose plus at least one surprise we didn't see coming.
When he is on the short list for the Wooden, Naismith, etc, I'll entertain this. You're comparing him to the 2 most highly decorated and accomplished Duke freshmen of the OAD era.
It's not being negative to have confidence that he'll be very good and that the team will be very good, but without hyperbole.
I was comparing Boozer to Flagg in high school. They were in the original same class and battled for the #1 recruit until Cooper reclassified. They played against each multiple times for Championship in HS and AAU tournaments. So Cameron could be just as good his Freshman season is all I’m saying. He is #3 recruit in a load class and some project AJ and Peterson above Flagg if they were in this draft. I don’t have those opinions as those people. Give me Flagg all day. No one knows how good Cameron will be until next season when he puts on a Duke uniform.
It's fair to predict he'll be very, very good. I'm excited he's coming to Duke. I just think we should temper expectations, or at least I feel like that after the heartbreak of this season.
Understandable, I’m just looking forward to more clarity of the roster for next season. We won’t know until that is constructed.
Duke getting 5-6 of Proctor, Foster, Brown, Ngongba, Evans, and Harris to return for the 2025-2026 Season would be a Win
Not sure how accurate this is but according to Sports King on twitter “Expect to see Duke roster news within 24-72 hours. I’m told specifically that money is no issue & roster continuity is at the top of Scheyer’s list. Duke’s NIL and collective is + 10 million and they’re prepared to spend even more. Dominos will start to fall very shortly.”

16.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 5.5 apg. 43.9% from field
I would assume that is backup for Foster &/or Proctor.

Definitely, if Duke were to land him. I see he is on some mock drafts also.
Yeah Chris, I was talking about Lee. He was listed on a few 2025 mock drafts as a second rounders. I also didn’t know he tested the NBA Draft last season but only got a G League combine invite.
I saw video of him last offseason. He outplayed the 2 Rutgers guards this year.
Lee and Proctor would be ideal in the backcourt.
Thoughti saw a post where they said Duke reached out to him but maybe not so who knows 🤷♂️🤷♂️
