Duke as the 3rd number 1 seed with Tennessee the highest #2 seed

How does Florida, the worst number 1 seed

Get rewarded with the worst 2 seed? While auburn gets the second best 2 seed either way the 1 overall? Make it make sense

ioliva,

based off the eye test and kenpom metrics Houston is the strongest 2 seed so they go to the weakest 1 seed (Florida). Also, ioliva the committee also tries to avoid having teams be paired up in the same region when they have already faced each other twice in the regular season which Florida and Tennessee have already played twice and have the potential to play a 3rd time in the SEC Tournament.

Below is the committee's bracket from the reveal show. Duke's region is the Defensive Region

South (Atlanta):

1 - #1 Auburn
2 - #6 Texam A & M
3 - #11 Wisconsin
4 - #13 Texas Tech

Midwest (Indianapolis):

1 - #2 Alabama
2 - #7 Purdue
3 - #9 Iowa State
4 - #15 Kansas

East (Newark) aka The Defensive Region:

1 - #3 Duke
2 - #5 Tennessee
3 - #12 Arizona
4 - #16 St. John's

West (San Francisco):

1 - #4 Florida
2 - #8 Houston
3 - #10 Kentucky
4 - #14 Michigan

East is the Toughest Region here with the West being the 2nd Toughest

Yeah I’d take that bracket all day. As much as St John’s has been a cool story, they are not a threatening 4 seed in the sweet 16.

They don’t use Kenpom metrics “ supposedly” . Which is why they have Houston as the #8 overall team in the nation. If they did they should’ve put Houston as a 1 seed.

Don’t want Tennessee and still have issues over getting Michigan state ( who should’ve been a 1) as the top 2 overall seed when Duke was the 1 overall Zions year

Ioliva,

Houston is the strongest 2 seed. I don’t know how much you’ve watched Houston, A and M, Purdue, and Tennessee this season but Houston is National Champion Good. Houston is better than Tennessee. A and M can defend but they are not a good offensive team same with Tennessee. Purdue is the weakest 2 seed out of all of them.

Agree. Was talking to a friend last week and told him I think it'll be Auburn, Houston or us to win it all

I think Duke would win, but it would be a nail biter. Lot of season left so these brackets will change quite a bit. IF SJU loses today they will probably drop to a 5, but I think they win at home.

If Duke is going to face St. John’s in the tournament I would prefer they don’t have to in Newark because that is Johnnies Country.

Miss St beat Ole Miss. Both teams are ranked. Brakefield played well but is catching some heat for 2 late goaltends. I'd like to see A&M in our bracket to see Coleman on Cooper. Coleman is averaging 8 and 5 which are roughly his career stats. He has hit double figures in 3 of the last 5 games. They have won 5 straight.
As for TJ Power he has scored 2 points total in the last 5 games. I didn't think he was very good last year but thought he'd be better than this. We will see him Monday when we travel to VA.

Again the committee is rating them as the 8th overall seed. #3 in Kenton but aren’t worthy of a 1 seed? This is why the committee bothers me. It isn’t consistent at all.
