Maybe similar to 01?

I thought the same thing, but unfortunately the 2011 season keeps popping up too

That's the spirit, Mac. We don't know what will happen, but the loss of Tre will allow others the chance to expand their games, and contribute in ways we never fathomed. If Tre can make it back without missing too many weeks, and at 100%, it could very well end up a blessing in disguise.
Best to stay positive, nothing good comes out of negativity.

If he’s out 4 weeks, he would be back for Duke at Virginia. During that time we should win every game but the next one. Not saying we won’t win Saturday but it will be tough.

That 01 game was my first game at Cameron, tonight was my sons first game.

Tres injury was right in front of me.... looked horrible immediately. It’s such a shame

I hope but Tre is the lead guard so I think it’s different then your big man. This is Jason Williams going down on that team but you don’t have Duhon up next. 2011 seems closer currently which sucks

We won the ACC that year. The only thing that hurt us that year is that Nolan had became comfortable having the ball in his hands a lot. Kyrie was a scoring guard so their talents bumped heads a little. This is different because Tre is a defensive, pass first guard so it won’t really affect Cam or RJ

Hopefully so I just meant in the aspect of being out forever and us knowing little

I thought I saw an article that Cam is used to being a play maker and always having the ball in his hands and it has been an adjustment of him not being that guy anymore. It will not be easy, and we cannot see it now, but Reddish having to take on more of a PG role might be the best thing that ever happens to this team.

Listen, we still have K and as many days as after the MD debacle when we lost Boozer. I actually picked us to lose to UVA with Tre, so this was going to be a tough win. However, adversity brings people to step to the next level and UVA may even have "we got this" creeping in their mind.

Bottom line, it was a somewhat good sign we had next to no game planning for Tre going out, we were playing a halfway decent team that hit many shots they wont make for the rest of the season, with "interesting" officiating to say the least. It sucks, but I think if anybody could find a way to beat UVA in this situation, it is K and Duke.

^^^This.

Holy crap Syracuse hit a lot of tough shots. Pull up 2's from deep and the sort. If they had been doing that stuff all year theyd be in the top 25 regardless of whether they got Dukes best team or not.

Losing Tre is tough, losing Tre and Cam at game time is almost impossible. Then having Cuse play one of their best games of the season...they deserve that win, whether its fair or not. Btw, Cam wouldve definitely helped vs the zone, maybe more so than Tre in this particular game. In the long run though Tre is the more important guy I think.

Yep, I called it at halftime. When a team makes a 3/4 quarter court shot at the break, your fate is pretty much sealed. It happens. We’ve been on a lot of good ends of those kinds of shots and last night was our turn to be on the other side.

I'd be cool with Cam's shot on Saturday rimming out if it means we get a do-over of last night...

Syracuse certainly didn't look like the worst shooting team in the ACC last night. But that's basketball. Like us, they don't have many 'percentage' shooters, but they have capable guys. Last night, they put it all together.

I'm confident K will make some adjustments here on the fly. He's going to have to get creative and figure out the best way to approach the immediate future. Defensively is where I see the biggest problem, initially. Tre's ability to make dribblers go side-to-side rather than downhill is probably underappreciated. I don't take a lot from last night. Syracuse was probably the worst team something like that could have happened against.

Could also be similar to 92, when Hurley broke his foot and missed five games. Just like Tre, Bobby was the guy that made that team go. If Cam is healthy, it will be interesting to see if he fills in for Tre like Grant did for Bobby.

If Tre isn't out for too long, which sounds like a big if at the moment, I can see the team growing from this. Reserves get more game experience, hopefully someone else develops as a playmaker, and the team won't be shell shocked if Tre is in foul trouble in a postseason game.

K has dealt with this before, so we're lucky we have the GOAT to figure it out. Fingers crossed that Tre is okay long term and the recovery isn't too long. Probably a thin line between 1992/2001 and 2011.

If Tre can be back by the ACC tournament, than I don’t think it will be anything like the Kyrie situation.
Kyrie was different: he was the teams best scorer, best passer, best ball-handler, best player.
Tre is our floor general, a much better defender than Kyrie was, but he isn’t Kyrie.

It’s hard to plug in a superstar like Kyrie in March. I don’t think it’ll be difficult to plug in Tre given his type of game (defense and distribute.)
