- This team could cut down the nets or lose in the first round. As hard as it is to fathom that with the talent on this team, it's the reality. The saying "on any given day..." completely fit. Early on, the team experienced exciting win in come backs but then when the underlying concerns started to show. Fast forward, and here the team is today.
- As discussed the starting 5 will leave for the NBA (I know some are holding out hope that Trent comes back) and Duke will return Bolden, Jav, Alex, Jack, Vrank and JRob unless another transfer happens. Bolden and Jav are getting the most PT and neither have been spectacular but both have upside. Honestly, if Bolden and Jav are the starting 5 and 4, Duke will be ok at best in the paint. Alex has impressed the most but doesn't see the floor as much and it's hopeful that he both gets more time and makes that Fr to Soph jump in development.
- it's safe to say that the season will be like going on a Sunday drive without knowing the destination, just enjoy the ride and we will know when we get there.

2018-2019
- the 3 recruits bring much hope to restore the Duke roster of rich in the back court and on the wings. All three of those players have shown the ability to do work on both ends of the court which will be good for the team. But unless Duke adds 1-2 bigs via grad transfer or find a hidden gem not committed yet, next year will be a reversal of this year's team.
- it's going to be more than interesting to see how K adapts to this team. RJ & Cam will excel but do very similar things and need the ball. Tre will run a clean show but has to continue to develop his shooting. Will Alex make an impact? Will JG get floor time or just be a practice player? Then how steps up, Vrank, Jack or JRob? Is the recruiting class done?
- biggest question, who provides the leadership?
