Shey I think your theory has some merit. I remember JJ departing IMG and it raised some eyebrows. I cannot stand Goodman, but the more I have thought about it, the foot injury could be bogus.Or, he may have such an injury and simply opt out.

I'm going to assume JJ is injured because lying is not cool and that would be a horrible look for us. So it's a non story for me unless other stuff comes out. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
I'm not buying anything Goodman is saying, guy is a clown. JJ departing IMG I don't think has any influence on him being at Duke and preparing for his NBA career, we will see him back.
My biggest thing is how does JJ fit with this roster? We looked great without him, but to be elite, we need him. The problem is JJ really can only play 4 due to his lack of shooting and size, and that's Hurts best position too.

He certainly hasnt done much since 1st game offensively, and we need him scoring. However not so sure I don't miss Jalen after other nite....

Here’s the kicker though...at least I would think. Jalen is scheduled to have an MRI in two or three weeks to re evaluate his foot. How can one fake getting an MRI scheduled?

A broken clock is right twice a day. Goodman is a complete and utter tool. I cannot confirm the extent of Jalens injury but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if he doesn’t suit up again.
Other boards are already discussing this. Not just from other teams either. On one hand I'm not going to speculate but there is a possibility JJ is considering preparing for the draft and not rushing back from injury. Which is his right. We looked pretty good the other night so we'll be okay either way. I just hope JJ gets healthy.
I like JJ and hope he recovers and plays for us. But this year, based on the games I've seen, Brakefield seems like an upgrade. JJ may be the better pro but I'm talking about this year. And I'm not even sure about that. We as fans get obsessed with upside and potential and ceilings. And Brakefield has quite a bit of upside as well.
Wiseman left and went number two overall . So not playing college ball didn’t hurt his stock.
IMO he will be back once he is healed for the same reasons that Zion came back. Loyal to his team members and to show scouts he is ok again. That said these foot injuries every year have to be driving the staff nuts. Personally, I think it is just bad luck.

No I don't think coach would do that. I'm just saying that saying a player is injured when he's not is not okay and would turn into a big deal. But I don't think that is the case at all.

When did he get injured? Practice or before the Illinois game? That would give reason as to why his play dropped off

I’m not doubting he’s hurt, think that’s obvious. But, to your point, speculating based on what I’ve seen, heard, and his past, i wouldn’t be surprised in the least if he doesn’t come back. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong, and would gladly welcome him back.
I think that is exactly why his play dropped off. A nagging foot or ankle problem. I remember all to well how that can happen. There were times when I limped about for a month. I think it happened in practice but that is just a guess.
Wasn’t Wiseman considered to be the number one high school player in the country before college ?Also think he was playing at a high level before he was ruled ineligible.Out side of the first game Jalen was not playing at a high level nor considered to be the best player in the country coming out of High School

No. Wiseman played I think two early games got hurt then before his return was suspended by the NCAA.
Him and Edwards we’re back and forth as the number one player coming into college . Wiseman’s offense is still a work he was playing good defense.
I can use lamelo Ball as an example as well. Left HIGH SCHOOL to play in Lithuania left there went back to chino hills left there to play in Australia and was taken number three over all.
My point being, you don’t have to play college ball to improve draft stock or to still be drafted in the first round.

To be honest, in 4 games you saw bit of anxiety and worry in JJ's game playing the 4 and 5. He's a natural sf/wf. Coach K had him out of position.
Playing the 4 and 5 made him work HARD. He was not use to it.
Wiseman got caught up in legitimate eligibility problems. He got caught, but no one was stopping him. He showed in a sample size, he was a proven pf/c with great weakside help.
I hope JJ comes back, if not, look for Brakefield and Hurt to step up and both declare.

Not arguing Wiseman played three games averaging nineteen and and ten.These are much better numbers than Jalen.Imo Jalen might get into the first round but Imo he needs to come back and play well to lock that in
I'm not a goodman fan either but I do find it funny that every fan base despises a writer or announcer if they ever say a bad word about their team or constantly don't kiss their teams rear end....just funny
