Interesting tidbit re: Texas Tech away from home

What’s so interesting about this is Texas Tech’s experience (along with their defense) is the one intangible everyone seems to use in discussing why they will beat us, but the analytics says their experience hasn’t been helpful away from home and Duke, a younger team, has performed MUCH better away from home and at neutral sites.

Ironically being away from home seems to help us lock in, where as at home we seem distracted and not as engaged. We dove into these numbers a couple weeks ago after the unc debacle, the splits home vs road/neutral are astounding.

On one hand I LOVE that this team has played so well outside of the doors at Cameron. On the other hand, it sucks because the crazies are mild sauce compared to what they were when I became a Duke fan!

I think that when we are at home our young players want so badly to perform in front of our fans and in Cameron that they placed extra pressure on themselves. That pressure was not present on the road. OFC

Certainly plausible.

Noone has wanted to mention that Gonzaga, who has similar makeup to us beat them quite easily. AND the fact that their 6'8", 6'8", 6'7" frontcourt, no matter their girth are going to have a hard time consistently scoring in the paint. Win lose or draw, I don't care what Vegas says about a line, I happened to be in Vegas when they gave us 9 points and my father in law walked away a winner at the sportsbook.
