One of my part time jobs is working at Lake McIntosh here in my home town. One of my co-workers is a young man Lucas Troutman. He played college basketball here for Elon University. Lucas is every inch of 6'10" and just completed his 1st year og pro basketball in Spain. He found out I was a Duke fan and he said he got to play against Duke 2 times. I ask him who he guarded and he said Ryan Kelly and Mason Plumlee. He went on to say he went to the same high school as the Plumlee's. He played on the same team as Mason and Marshall. Lucas told me Mason was every bit a 7 footer and both Mason as Miles were studs. He said Marshall was just the way he comes across on Blue Planet just as funny as he could be. He said Marshall did the same interviewing stuff in high school He did say Marshall had a serious side to him and could turn back and forth from being serious to being funny in an instant. He said Marshall is a born leader and being named team captain didn't surprise him. Looking forward to talking more hoops this summer with before he goes back to Spain. OFC

Troutman was one of Elon's best players IIRC. I remember him playing in Cameron. Cool story, Sky.

edit - he played Duke 3 times, getting at least 10 points in each meeting. Not bad.

I live near Elon and follow them and the rest of the SoCon (when they were in it) pretty closely. I remember Troutman and remember thinking he looked a fair amount like Mason himself...at least in college. Pretty cool that he is still playing and that he knows all those guys.

Lucas doesn't have the beef Mason has. Much slimmer. Does favor him. He could pass for a Plumlee if you saw them together somewhere.There is another former Elon player Sebastian Koch who just finished his first year with the Delaware 87'ers of the D-League. OFC

Yeah I remember Koch too. Saw him throw down a nasty dunk in person on my Catamounts one time. Of course the Catamounts still won. Elon has had some pretty good players here recently, gotta like what Coach Matheny is doing with the Phoenix.
