I love ‘Savage K’

What have I missed? Did he say something in his postgame press conference last night?

He’s basically asking fans that if they are really Duke fans, to stop saying his kids are trash or that they suck.

Oh, and that if they want to question his coaching, to look up in the rafters and Cameron and decide if they still think they should do that.

Git ‘em K!!!!!

He must’ve read the game thread last night

Sometimes I wonder if any of them do. I sure hope not

There are people within the program who read this board and others.

In the late 2000s and early 2010s there were two dad’s of players who read and sometimes posted at DI. The mods at the time were made aware of it by the guy who ran the site....but it wasn’t public knowledge. They didn’t say a whole lot, but one of their sons was a frequent target of a select few.

I know at BDN (at one time) there were a lot of parents and people connected to the program who read the board. Ironically, that board had a lot of civil discourse, most of the time. It was kind of a ‘who’s who’ message board. The Plumlee’s parents were somewhat active there, as well as Jim Sumner, Al Featherston, Crazy Towel Guy and others. Some really cool Duke stories told there....and I just sat back like a fly on the wall. Good stuff!

Back when Josh Hairston was at Duke I would talk to his uncle weekly. He was a delivery driver for a company that delivered kitchen counter tops to a business I worked for. He lived in Winston -Salem. He always spoke of how much Josh loved Duke and how much he was looking forward to being a Duke graduate. I didn't ever tell him I was a member of this board and how much Josh was being critisized at the time. Sad thing about Josh is he is still being bashed from time to time by members of this board. How many years has it been now since he graduated? Kind of carrying it a little too far. OFC

I assumed there are likely some that do. I hope the players don’t. I can imagine if one of them is getting trashed by posters, that could definitely stay in an 18 year olds mind and effect his performance

What he is really doing is diverting the attention to him and off the kids
He does make a great point after all he has 1100+ career wins, 5 National Championships, 15 ACC Tournament Championships and 12 ACC Regular Season Championships. So he definitely knows what he’s doing.

I have no problem with anything Coach K said last night. However he has given the appearance for a few weeks now of not being engaged...I mean it was impossible to not see it.

Last night is the Coach K we are used to seeing. Which is why it has been strange he has at least given the appearance of something totally contrary to what we have grown accustomed.

The jacket was off, He was up and engaged, He was emotional, He was calling out plays, He made adjustments. It shouldn’t have taken media, social media or fans questioning what was going on with him for him to finally engage...and that would be my only problem with what he said last night.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out something was wrong with him some time after the season is over...I really wouldn’t.

I think people are afraid to question him, but if anyone thinks he was the same coach last night as he has been the last while, I want what you’re smoking. The losses had him mad enough. To be honest, I feel some of the criticism was good for him.

Last night for sure had a different feel than the previous couple of weeks. I would not be shocked either if something comes out after the season as to how he was feeling.

Trust me ain’t no player reading this board lol. 0 chance in that! Twitter Facebook and stuff like that I can see. K’s actually making things worse imo. He’s just letting the people acting a fool know that their voice IS being heard.....I don’t like it .

I don't know if Coach K has a physical problem or not, but I'm pretty sure that at age 73 (with the schedule he keeps) that he has to monitor his energy supply. It's not just the physical energy expended, but the emotional energy spent in a game like last night. I'm sure many of you can remember games when you were emotionally & physically spent after watching a particular tight game...well, he's at the epicenter. So, I think he probably doesn't want to have to spend that type of energy unless he really has to. Just my 2 cents.

Agreed 100%. It was impossible not to see how disengaged he looked before last night. I hope the rest of the season is like last nights Coach K. Go Duke!

I mean we’re all human. It’s easy to say ignore the haters but there is only so much anyone can take before they issue a response. May not be the way you’d handle it, but I’m glad K is going SAVAGE. Forget that elder statesmen ish.

There's even a hater on this board who hammers K constantly but feels he must reply harshly to every criticism thrown his way. Kinda funny actually.

Everybody’s got haters. A “response” is exactly what they want, a reaction. To me, it just adds fuel to the fire. I’m just saying :)

I think it's a complement to our program that everyone says "what's wrong with Duke?" when we lose 2 in a row. Most teams you wouldn't even notice.

K saying “look up in the rafters”Somebody on here, I forgot who told me you can always improve ,get better, and add more accolades even if you’re the GOAT. That really hit me. Ida just been a smartass/motivater and say you shoulda had 6 and you won’t get 6! :D

So this the results we get for saying he falling off huh? Should’ve thought of this last year. We could be going for back to back. He actually coached and got into it last game because he heard the criticism. Let me create a Twitter and talk bad about him. We gon win every game by 20 now
