Lol. Not really. I said it at the time, but I think everybody was just overreacting after the Tech game. Cameron on big game nights is far more imposing than it is on an average Wed. night against a mid-major squad or last-place team -- and that's hardly unique to Cameron. Duke's home schedule was unusually weak prior to the ND game -- and, IMO, the only change is that the schedule improved.Originally posted by skysdad:

It was a Saturday day game against a mid-tier ACC opponent. That's a very different than the type of crowd you'll get for an early Wed. night tilt against a last place Ga Tech team. I just don't think the Ga Tech performance was that out of the norm. In any year, there are going to be a couple games where the crowd is dead b/c, among other things, (i) the timing of the game; (ii) the quality of the opponent, and (iii) academic schedule -- i.e., does it line up with midterms, or a waive of first exams. As much as people like to act as if the Duke student body has nothing to do but support the basketball program, reality is that most of them are going pro. in something other than being a Duke b-ball fan. When you've got a student body of only 6000+ who are generally very academically-focused, getting 25% of the student body to show up at a fevered pitch every night is difficult.Originally posted by timo0402:
Anyone can respond for the UNC game, i was most proud of how they were at the Clemson game. they were awesome in a situation that they could have easily been absent (like the GT game).
I dont think it was overreacting to the GT game- they were pitiful. But they've responded like the crazies we know they can be. Need them two more times!
