I've long liked Jim Boeheim, not least b/c he and K are buds, and enjoyed their days in Big East (which is where 'Cuse should be with 'Nova).

But, man, today, if there was ever a day I wanted that zone to work its magic and for them to hit 3s, it's today.

From reports on the arena, it's sight-lines are terrible for shooting. Once again, serendipity is on UNC's side as they will get a lot of points off rebounds and 'Cuse and the other two teams are so dependent on the 3 whereas UNC uses its size and athleticism to get a ton of buckets inside. This would be a huge upset for them to lose at this point, imo. But, hey, dreams do happen sometimes.

GTHC, GTH!!!!!

I would love a 'Nova-'Cuse final, as I love northeastern basketball.

UNC is going to cruise. I doubt it's ever within two possessions in the second half.

I'm actually surprised that's the late game. I understand it's UNC, but it's also UNC against an extreme underdog. Villanova-Oklahoma will be the much better game. Besides UNC fans I think most people will have turned off the Final Four by halftime of Cuse-UNC.

Yeah, but you obviously drink on Saturday mornings too. I kid, I kid.

But seriously, Syracuse will have to shoot lights out. I don't see it happening in the dome. Plus, they're not deep. I'd put Brice at the FT line and let him hit the 13-15 footer all day or pass down low to cutters for easy baskets. Coleman isn't a smart big so I expect him to be fighting foul trouble.

I see something like 89-73 and the game being in double-digits for the majority of the second half. The Orange won't be able to defend the Heels.
 
I wish one was playing OU and the other Villanova so I could pull against both of them.

I don't know if I'd label any of UNC's bigs "smart" either, lol. I would love to see Brice to blow up on anger like last week (T'd up),and have a negative carryover effect.

Hoping the psychological effect plays out as well...Any team is tough to beat 3 times in one year, and I think Coach K's pal and US hoops asst will keep it close. If they do so, they should win- UNC hasnt had a close game on a while, and Syracuse is truly tournament tough!!

They don't have to be smart....there's four of them. That's my point.

Syracuse was getting housed by UVA. Then the Cavaliers absolutely collapsed. UNCs offense isn't going to collapse. You have to outscore them but they score so easily. The Orange aren't outscoring them.

If the final score is under 10-12 points and at any point with under 12 minutes to play the game is in doubt I'll be delightfully surprised. I just think UNC cruises. They're significantly better than the Orange.
 
I just feel like Syracuse is clicking and they will frustrate Paige. We'll see. And I've been known to crack a cobeer for breakfast on the front nine.

Syracuse played them close twice. Jim is a way better coach than Roy as well.. Idk I really hope 'Cuse wins but it'll be tough. That zone has to be real disruptive and you don't need to allow page to hit anything

On paper I agree, your assessment is sound and could be very easily be correct...Much of my argument I suppose is based on mitigating factors like the "three times in one season theory. " Do not forget Cuse played UNC much closer 2nd time around this yr, keeping score in 70s I believe...In fact that game was in the Dean Dome, and if UNC home cookin doesnt whistle Cooney for foul on 50-50 ball w/a min left its anyone's game...Still Gbinije had the ball w/6 seconds to go w/Orange down 3...Tough loss...

UNC is a 9.5 point favorite, a big number for a Final Four game. It will probably be a 7 to 9 point game at halftime, but UNC's superior size will gradually pull away. They aren't great, but they won't have to be.

I have a better idea. Send your scrub player on the floor. Punch Johnson in the nads and that'll be that. I'm joking...if you stop either Paige or Johnson you'll frustrate them enough to put up dumb shots

So far, every 3 is going in. So much for bad sight lines. Maybe Cuse will make it rain.

UNC is better, and may win 9 out of 10, but all we need is for that one time to happen tonight. If you can make it to the FF you win a single game against anyone left. I'm pulling for the Orange cheaters to beat the sissy blue cheaters.

Early on it looks like a Holes/Nova final. In terms of match-up, that's a gift for UNCheat.
 
Ugh, I hate to be a downer, but if this is how OK came to play, then UNCheat is going to fraud their way to a title.

Villanova can beat UNC. So can Oklahoma. I don't think either would, but the discrepancy isn't outrageous.
 
I think UNC will win but I am really surprised that everyone thinks it is a forgone conclusion. The game will go down to the wire.
 
I did not see the Nova game going this way. This has to be OU's worst offensive performance of the season by a HUGE margin.
 
I feel bad for Buddy. Sucks for him. Usually tho someone plays this well they lay an egg the next game. Let's hope that doesn't happen
 
Villanova would be the first national champions in a long, long time in which casual fans cannot even name one player on the team.
 
Nova with no mercy my gosh. If you think that team can't win the NC, even against UNC, your crazy.
 
I wish that Nova could have saved about 30 of those points for unc. OFC
