Giannis Antetokounmpo would have chosen Duke

That’s pretty crazy to think about. However, Giannis wasn’t GIANNIS until around 2016. He was a total project when he got drafted and took 2-3 years to put on muscle. He averaged 6 points and 4 rebounds as a rookie on a tanking Bucks team.

Regardless, he’s a phenomenal player/role model/person who would have further cemented the Duke brotherhood in positive ways.

Yeah we didn’t need him to be Giannis of today, his freakish athleticism with that experienced team would have been enough to win it all. We got to the Elite 8. A raw Giannis gets us over the hump!

The one that gets me is Sean Livingston, the kid who went straight to the NBA after picking us. I have heard of Giannis but I have never seen him play. I don't watch the NBA,. The last one I watched was the LeBron Golden State game when he made that block.

Livingston never coming to Duke hurt. He was the #2 player in the class (#1 Dwight Howard everyone knew was straight to the NBA) so Livingston really was #1.
Our 2005 team lacked top end talent, we still scrapped our way to a 1 seed though, gotta think Livingston could have made us elite.

I know it would be asking a lot, but if he had stayed a 2nd year then that 2006 team would have been completely dominant. Maybe Paulus never comes to Duke since a starting Pg spot wouldn’t have been immediately available….a lot of dominos could have fallen differently.

Dan, we're cutting them down with Livingston. That one hurt.
