Bellarmine is a tough group; I wouldn't want to see them again in the tourney if their petition is successful. Duke shot the ball well, but teams can see that packing the lane against us leaves shooters open, and we have to hope our guys can hit from downtown, which seems to be the case. Also, Mitchell's jump shot looks broken, haha

Great post as always bleed. It seems the perimeter shooting has been the Achilles heel for Duke the last several years doesn't it???

Maybe Whitehead will get his jumper back SOONER than LATER. Otherwise expect a lot of zone/sagging man to man as you referenced. Whitehead shot the ball well in some all-star hs competitions I saw, and Grandison comes in with a rep as a good outside shooter. Jeremy seems to have improved also.

Whitehead seems to like the Jordan like deep fadeaway jump shot. My dad calls that the worst shot in basketball. His team would say "well Jordan does it" and he would say "well you're not Jordan" haha. I think Whitehead and Lively's ceilings will determine our fate. We kind of know what the other guys bring by now.

I know Whitehead is just getting his sea legs under him, but obviously he hasn't done much so far this season. I am hoping we see some signs of his significant prowess (especially from perimeter) this weekend.

Hopefully Lively can emerge a bit more too.It seems most of his scoring has been dunks. I would like to see some shots around the basket, as he can't always Dunk the ball.

Also I can dream, but I would like to see Schutt get some PT without a leash. We're pretty guard heavy, but why not give him some PT without a quick hook. ITS VERY EARLY, and Duke really needs a TRUE SNIPER to emerge.

You are now free to direct the slings and arrows at me!! Lol, happy Thanksgiving board!!! OFC
