Great question- Marshall's success to me is a number of things. One of the things i'd like for Tone to do is match Marshall's work ethic, eagerness to soak in the knowledge, and be the consummate teammate. So yes, getting a degree and possibly an advance degree to me is extremely successful as a career path for him. Granted, he might have different goals than Marshall did and might want to try his hand in the pros. But as of right now- in terms of "seeing him play some hoops" we have. He was rated well outside the Top 100/150 in terms of rankings- he's not the athlete that Marshall was/is (Marshall was a top 50 recruit, although a lot of that was based on him already being committed to Duke/bloodlines). So a great example, currently on the team to mentor him and has been in his shoes, is right there in front of him. You take the same or a similar road and you're going to be successful. Before we anoint "Tone" as a "role player his whole career," maybe K (not we) should see him play some hoops. And when you compare him to Marshall as being successful, I ask, "Successful at what, exactly?" If he wants to hang around college for five years, and maybe even get an advanced degree, then, fine, I agree, as long as it's paid for.
