11 Duke alums have scored more than 10,00 points. Of those, 5 have grabbed more than 5,000 rebounds. Of that elite group, however, only three make my top five: G-Man, Grant, and Brand. The "scorers-only" I included were Marin and Mullins. It was NOT easy to leave off some of the other guys! Make your case!

Grant Hill has been the best pro K has produced, even with what he was robbed of due to injury. He was a double figure scorer for 17 straight years!! Kyrie is going to absolutely make the list, but he is just building his resume. I think we'll also be mentioning guys like Jabari and Okafor in due time.

Christian Laettner played 15 NBA seasons and had career averages around 13 and 7. That includes his last four years when he was a single digit role player. For his first seven seasons he was a 16 ppg guy, nothing to sneeze at.

Brand is also right on the money. He is retiring as a 16 and 8 guy, and he was a 20 ppg guy for his first 9 years.

Carlos Boozer has been playing 14 years and is a career 16 and 9 guy.

Mike Dunleavy was never an All- Star, but has quietly put together 14 solid years of 12 ppg production.

JJ Redick is also putting together a solid career. His first five years were relatively modest, but over the next five he has averaged 14 ppg.

Hill, Boozer, Brand, Maggette and jj or Dunleavy.. Soon Kyrie will be there as will Jabari and I think of last years group Justice will be the best pro and possibly the best one we've had

Great list, Huffy.
Yeah, Laettner had quite a career until the Achilles injury...same thing with Brand. And of course as great as Grant was...without the injury he would probably be up there with some of the all-time greats.

Here's an article about Achilles injuries that show before and after stats the top basketball players that had their careers derailed by this injury. Laettner, and Brand are on there, and it's a drastic difference from their before numbers. One player listed that did come back and play at a very high level after one is Dominique Wilkins. These injuries are usually devastating for basketball players.
