I figured now would be a good time to start this thread! Obviously the two titles are the peak, but I'm looking to relive some of the more underrated moments. I'll start!

One of my favorite games was the Ryan Kelly "White Raven returns" game vs Miami. If you recall Miami had absolutely demolished us in the first meeting of the year in Coral Gables. Miami was a really good team that year and looked to have our number. The matchup in Cameron was looking no different.

Then we started hearing rumors of a return. Ryan Kelly was ready to play. Most of us thought he would be in limited minutes mode after missing most of the season, but the game begins and he is the starting lineup. He misses his first two shots and badly. He, however, makes his third shot and looks to the bench. "I've still got it" he screams to his teammates. Goes on to score his career high 34 points that game while carrying the offense.

One of the loudest non-UNC moments I have ever heard in Cameron and one of my all time favorite Duke memories.

There are many Zion moments. The Block in the Corner is one of them. the passes where he looks at his hand like "did I really do that?" were classic.

I liked the two Tyus 3 pt daggers, one against Va. and the other vs. Wisconsin. Also, Grayson's "let's go!" in the finals and his dunk coming in from the corner vs. Mich. State.

I was at the pre season NIT I think when Winslow came out of no where to block a fast break layup. That was spectacular.

I'm sure I could think of 10 more given time to think.

The comeback against Carolina in '18 I think, in Cameron. 2nd half sequence where Bagley scores and gets an and one, and he gets really fired up.

Also, '15 comeback in Cameron against Carolina, late in game, Okafor gets pass from Jones, gets to the rim and scores against Meeks I think, just schooling him and getting an and one. His response is so awesome... he kinda bobs his head and glances over his shoulder, apparently talking a bit of trash to Meeks.

'17, ACC Tournament semifinal against Carolina... Kennard hits a three, we come back down. I believe Giles slaps the floor, then gets a block, then races down the court and throws down an alley-oop. I had a friend who was at the game and he said the place went ape shit on the Giles dunk. Obviously with everything he went through, that being part of a furious rally by us... that was glorious.

That Giles sequence is also one of my favorite plays of the decade. With everything Harry went through, and how badly he wanted to contribute, that was a moment that gave me chills.

Let's just all throw st least a dozen of Zions in and go from there.
Heyward's miss, Tre's 3 and look/smile after that sank Wisc., Greyson's follow dunk/scream vs MSU, Grayson's dive/save in Final, Rivers' game winner vs Carolina, 40 min last year vs UK, every win vs Carolina, Sheyer's around the back going out of bounds save.

Not to mention the hole fans had been chanting overrated at him at chapel hill.

All of the above and I remember every dadgummed one of them dsdgummit. But the one I remember to much joy and delight was Marshall Plumlee's 3 pointer. I came out of my recliner although it took me about ten seconds to do it. I have a buddy that is an Iron Duke and has had season tickets going back at least 30 years and has personally witnessed all of the things above that happened at CIS. He told me that when Marshall made that three he thought the place was gonna fall in. The place was shaking. He said it was the loudest moment he has ever heard in Cameron as Marshall set a Duke record that will never be broken. OFC

That 2017 ACC Tournament Run was a thing of beauty! 4 games in 4 nights!

Sub Zero’s dagger in Chapel Hill, down ten with two minutes left, one of the nuttiest rallies I’ve ever seen, and the absolutely heartbroken look on Zeller’s face was just amazing. I freaking lost my mind.

Until Zion’s team from last year, THIS probably would have been everyone's No. 1 and I’m sure it still is for most people.

I mean NO ONE IN ACC history has won 4 games in 4 nights in the ACCT.

The comeback against Louisville on Thursday
The comeback against UNC in Friday
The comeback against Notre Dame on Saturday (thanks Matt Jones)

Last year's flushing of UK and the come back of all come backs against UL last year. That taught me a valuable lesson as to never give up on Duke and Coach K 's ability into making believers out of his teams. OFC

Those moments from this decade that stick out are

1) The Dagger

2) I can’t remember exactly who we were playing but Zion threw down a nasty dunk and because of the camera angle you could see RJ jump in the air simultaneously with Zion. I think that was one of the many instances that proves that there was no jealousy between Zion and RJ that so many opposing fans tried to say was there between them.

I think K said (to a reporter) who asked about Duke surviving those games (think it was after the UL or UNC game) and he said “we’ll keep playing because the players would much rather play then go home and practice!”

It’s amazing. It’s sooooo many good moments from this decade alone that with each new one someone mentions, you feel its better than the previous moment(s).

Get goosebumps reading these and remembering them, they were all so good!
For me I like..

1. Rivers 3.
2. The Louisville comeback last year.
3. Cam’s buzzer beater at FSU. (It was my birthday and my best friend text me with like 10 minutes to go and said “they’re gonna comeback and your boy Cam is gonna hit a 3 at the buzzer for your birthday”. Needless to say I went nuts haha

That team was so much fun to watch in the last month or so besides the SC game. That 4 game stretch was just awesome. Like how could it get better for a fan? 4 games in 4 nights with three of them being against very good teams and we win all 4 and win the acc championship. Man that was awesome. Still can’t believe we lost to South Carolina.

I will go to my grave saying we deserved the 1 seed over Carolina that year. We beat them 2 out of 3, had more top 50 wins, more top 100 wins, ACC Champions (the tournament winner is the champion). The ONLY thing in their favor, IIRC, was they had 7 overall losses to our 8.

And that was with practically half our team missing at least 1 game with injuries!

The only explanation I ever heard for why this was the case was this: the head of the selection committee basically said we were too far down the "s-curve". Because we were so far back at the mid-point of the season (I guess we were a projected 4 or 5 seed), a two seed was about as high as we could climb. So essentially we never even got the opportunity to have our resume evaluated against Carolina for the 1 seed.

Talk about a flawed methodology. It still pisses me off when I think about it.

I've never heard that before, that is BS. Your exactly right, we weren't fully healthy until January and we spent that whole month trying to develop chemistry. Once we figured it out, we were clearly the best team in the country.

As far as our draw goes, the 1 seed in our bracket was Villanova and they had lost in the 2nd round to a pretty average Wisconsin team. So, since that happened, I can't really complain, we gotta beat South Carolina. Our elite 8 draw would have been a 4 seed Florida, the same Florida team that we smoked at MSG in December which was Tatum's first game back and still no Giles.

Not giving us a 1 seed was bad. Giving us a 2 seed though and having us play South Carolina in their back yard was criminal.

^ Well said jwill, especially the last paragraph. Spot-on.

And my apologies to everyone for derailing the thread.

The national championship game against Wisconsin sequence where Grayson hits the three, fights for the steal and gets fouled, then drives and gets the and one was like something you'd see in a movie. And capping it off was one of the cameras catching Coach K come off the stool and do his hybrid fist pump/arm swing that rivaled any Tiger Woods fist pump.

I’m trying to think of the 5 times that I screamed loudest. Best I can recall they were:
1. 2010 title
2. 2015 title
3. Rivers dagger
4. Zion committing to Duke
5. Dismantling of uk in the champions classic

Great call on Zion committing, that was fantastic.

I also thought Justise Winslow's commitment was moving, especially when he was talking about his mother IIRC.

I just wanted him here SO bad....and I gave us basically no shot at all. When he put that Duke hat on, I absolutely LOST MY MIND!
My dog was barking, wife yelling from upstairs, “wjats wrong, what’s wrong?”

Not a DANN THING wrong baby!!!! We got ZION!

Then I hear her mumble......oh my god.

LOL!!!

I almost put that on mine too. I just didn’t wanna over do last season as my favorites for an entire decade lol

I was at a Outback here in Dayton waiting on my table. Got a beer at the bar and up came the announcement. He put that Duke hat on and I went INSANE. I couldn’t believe it. I had honestly wrote him off already. I got so many weird looks lol

Gives me chills every time i rewatch it. Remember where me and my buddy were, surrounded by Tar Heel fans and going absolutely nuts.
