Daniel Jones a top 10 pick?

I'm tired of hearing you Cowboys fan whine. Try being an Oakland/Vegas Raiders fan :(

By the way, Romo should have gotten his job back when he was healthy. He could have groomed Dak for a couple of years (if he stayed healthy) and Dak and the Cowboys would be better for it. Kellen Moore being promoted from Dak's backup to his QB Coach is one of the most mind boggling moves I have ever seen.

Non-stop chatter about a Cowboys franchise that has been average for 20+ years...I didn't know I was reading an ESPN website.

At least it's all negative lol. I'm not a Cowboys hater though. My girlfriend is HARDCORE so I've pretty much seen every Cowboy game over the last 10 years. Hell I might know their roster better than the Faiders....I mean the Raiders.

Honkey, nothing surprises me anymore and I’ve been a Cowboys fan since the 70’s.

It's bad bro....bad....
He’s pretty much telling his players he doesn’t want them and he’s building towards the future. Well that’s exactly what he’s telling them. Now he’s saying guys are calling him wanting to play for the Raiders blah blah BS! I don’t see one player currently on the Raiders that wants to play for him. 100 million dollar mistake. Then you have to deal with your team moving on top of that man I really do feel for you ...bad.... woo

And how many rings does Cincy have again?? Asking for a friend.
Tell your friend he's an idiot becuase everyone knows Cincy has been a joke forever because of the cheapest owner in sports. Cincy being bad for 30 years is expected, were like the NC State of the NFL.

The Cowboys being bad for 20 years, with the amount of hype they get, is like Duke being bad for 20 years. That's embarassing.

Ooooh I think my friend hit a nerve. Settle down Frances. I think it was meant to be joke.

Lol what? I could care less about football, zero nerves hit. However, it is extremly fun to make fun of the Cowboys, no offense.

Talk bad about Duke or Lebron...that's a different story.

The real good ones don’t need anybody around them

Manning had elite, and I mean ELITE skill position players around him in Indy and an all time great receiving corp (top to bottom) in Denver. When he had good D's around him, he won. The last title in Denver featured a noodle armed Manning managing his team to a title riding an elite D while throwing to top tier receivers who made plays after the catch. Brady was a top tier game manager for his first few titles, riding an elite defense. For the most recent run of titles, he's only had an all time TE (wrt receiving), with top tier slot guys. And his titles usually came in years when his RB's were healthy and very productive. And he hasn't won a title whenever his defense slipped below "pretty good." Coach Hoody helped a little, too. Big Ben won titles when his D was near elite, and has had good enough skill position players.
.
Possibly the best passer of all time, Aaron Rogers, has won one title, and the Defense did a lot of the heavy lifting that year. He's got as much potential as anyone who has ever played the game, but he just doesn't have the talent around him to win titles.
.
As I said, DJ has the potential to be a great game manager. There are some openings on teams with good defenses and good enough skill on O to win games. DJ can't carry a team on his back to the title, but there are about 2-3 of those in the league at any given time.

Watching tonight, I see what the NFL sees in DJ. Our receivers only really have two problems. They can't get separation from the DB covering them, and they can't make the catch when they are (seemingly inexplicably) open. Added to the zero protection DJ gets, and I can understand why some NBA types see DJ as the type of guy that, behind a legit line, will manage NFL level skill players into the playoffs. Give him a good D, and, well, Super Bowls have been won by less than that.

The NBA is scouting him? Cool? :)

Says the fan of someone even less relevant...
Are you slow? That was the whole point of the joke. The Cowboys get talked up like they are Patriots contending for a title every year.
If your gonna suck (like the Cowboys), at least be irrelevant like the Bengals.
Does that make sense to you or do I gotta describe it another way??

No, I'm not slow. I know how the world works. That when people have tradition, like duke, or the yankees, or the cowboys, that it doesn't matter how long you go witbout winning a title. Know why? Because you had so much success over a certain period of time that people will always either love you or hate you.

A duke basketball fan should know this. Apparently you never learned this fact... And you accuse me of being slow? Insulting people on their intelligence? How pretentious are you LMAO?

Like the Bengals? The Bengals have no haters. Only a few people even care about them. People worldwide love or hate the cowboys with no in between unless they don't care about football in general. Get it now? We stay relevant due to free rent inside the heads of people like you...

Congrats, another person deserving of the ignore... Thank you, it's been a pleasure lol.

Yeah but the Cowboys don’t win like Duke or the Yankees do soooooooooo.

How long has it been since the yankees won? A decade? A long time to a person like you, right? You're a victim of your own argument, like a petulant child. Ignore is now official, I don't have time to waste on grown children like you...

I don’t watch baseball but Wikipedia tells me the last Yankees title was 2009, the last Duke title was 2015.
I have a friend who lives in South America without any WiFi so he can’t look it up, he literally just asked me when the last Cowboys title was, any idea when it was??

Also I’m sorry to any Daniel Jones fans, I simply made 1 Cowboys joke and it has kinda blown up.
I watched a lot of the game last night, Jones is phenomenal, our receivers are terrible. Almost all of Jones’ balls were right on the money, and that was given the terrible conditions and our receivers not getting any separation.
I’d love the Bengals to look at Daniel in the 1st round because Andy Dalton just isn’t the answer.

Back to Daniel, like I've said before he is a tremendous athlete. I think he is also a good quarterback who could be great but he likes to hold onto the ball too much. When he decides to move the pocket with his legs to control the defense and to throw the ball away when necessary, he can be great.

The Giants and Jags would take him before he gets to Cincy. There are other QBs likely to be in the draft with higher upsides, but (barring the Oregon QB who's entry is dicey) few have a floor as high as DJ's, nor are any likely to be as ready to contribute immediately. DJ's poor surrounding cast (outside of some decent RBs) will let him get up to speed very quickly in the NFL. For teams like the Giants or Jags, they need someone who can be a quality game manager within the next 2-3 years. DJ could be that guy.

Jones needs to stick around and throw off that injury bug. He needs a full season of play to show what he has matured into. He has the skill set and the knowledge, has just been hurt too much.

If I were picking a quarterback I would take the West Virginia quarterback Greer that played for his dad at Davidson Day school. That game yesterday was perfect for Greer against Texas no defense on either side. His high school team won a game 80 something to 60 something. Lol

The problem Grier has to overcome is the perception that darn near any decent QB can put up great numbers against Big-12 defenses. Certainly there have been some recent high-profile NFL successes from the B-12. But some high-profile failures also.

Plus, Grier hasn't had the year expected either. He's at a very, and I mean VERY, advanced age for a college QB. Plus, his system isn't really a pro style set (Though the pros are adopting more of these practices). And he lacks ideal size (though it is perfectly adequate, it just isn't IDEAL).
.
Like I said, DJ has a lot of upside potential. He does have ideal size. And great athleticism, all the way around. He has played in a pro-style set.
.
Like I said, DJ's appeal is less about upside and the future. What he looks like is a guy with the potential to be a top tier game manager IN THE NEAR FUTURE. There are at least 2, and possibly 4, teams that need a game manager at QB picking in the upcoming draft. But they don't really need developmental. They need a QB that can help within 2-3 years at most. NYG need OL and defensive help, and the Jags literally just need a QB. Either of these teams might love a guy like DJ. There's likely to be 2-3 QBs that bad teams might prefer if they are having to rebuild from a tear down situation. But these aren't tear downs.
