When I was growing up in Winston Salem NC I was raised to be a Blue Devil by my older brother. I was born in 89 so I got to experience Duke and be indoctrinated at a very good time...

I grew up, like most Duke fans, outnumbered by Cryalotta fans and State fans. My Dad graduated from State and my Mother was also diehard Pack. State would be my second team if I had one.

Which brings me to last night. State wins, Cryallota loses, and DUKE WINS!!! Trifecta, baby! 😈

I had a friend named Matt. We played basketball from little league all the way to high school before I focused on football. Matt was a good friend. The only thing we ever didn't get along on was Duke vs Cryalotta.

He was relentless if they won. And in the 90s they won a lot. Then the Hansbrough teams took control for a while. Matt really liked to be loud about it if he could.

I had a different way. And this is usually how I am with Cryalotta fans unless I just can't stand them. I am cordial with those I am friends and acquaintances with.

When Duke wins I act like nothing happened. I love watching their eyes as they are nervous talking to me, waiting for me to go off and give it to them hard. But I don't. I simply wait to the end of the work day or hang out period and as I'm leaving I'll say "good game," wink and walk off 😀😈

Sky, Black you guys both are classier than me. If I am around them somewhere, I won't discuss it either. (Even though they are relentless if they win.)

However I never fail to indulge my- self if Duke wins. I merely start a slow exit (they agonize as they know its coming), give 'em a little wave bye as I look back and instead of "Later," I say "LAETTNER!" Gets 'em every time. OFC
