Chris's Coor's and Nathan's Courtside (well TV side) Post Game Observations and Rants/raves.

I think we handle Arizona. The metrics do say they have been playing like a top 10 team the last 10 games or so. I think Love's luck runs out and we end his college career.
I would love revenge for the two losses we suffered in 2022 to him and the cheats. I want to punish Arizona and make Caleb Love cry.

I was rooting for Oregon to pull off the comeback upset. I think we would smoke them by 20+ had we played them.

Arizona seems structured to give us more trouble and they have more talent. Sometimes teams play to their competition. So I think we will get a tough shot from them. They will be psyched. This will by no easy group with Alabama looming. But Arizona will be a battle.

We have to play well and we will need to shoot well. I would really like to see Slim get in there and get an open 3. He seems to force the ball too much of late - sensing I think, that his playing time is predicated on his hitting shots. But I want him to simply play the game and let it come to him. Flagg has done well with that the last half of this year. Even Knueppel has matured in that way from early on. But defensively we have to focus for 40 minutes.

We should win this game on paper, but it won't be as easy as Oregon would have been. Everyone needs to bring it.

GTHC, GTH.

Is it just me, or is this entire transfer portal system completely broken? How can all this be going on while there are still two+ weeks left in the season???
Yup it sure is. The same with the coaches with Jai Lucas as well as Will Wade coaching Mcneese even though he practically already committed to State.

Nothing happen until the season's over.

Duke vs Arizona sweet 16 rematch.
I was strangely calm watching the game last night. I really didn't think Arizona could beat us. They did come back, but we bent but did not break. Rewatching the 20 minute highlights now.
1. Sion with a power move to the hoop and then the 3. He has been such a huge addition, a strong veteran guard we (at least I) have been clamoring for. he has been very consistent.
2. Wow Proctor with 3 nice moves for scores. He cooled down in half 2 but he looks great now.
3. Love raining 3's. He played a really good game; the kid just gets up for Duke.
4. Sion got fouled several times going to the hoop and scores. No foul.
5. Flagg is just ridiculous. None of his movement is wasted; he is always going towards the hoop and straight up. Him and Kon are 2 of the most fundamentally sound Duke players I have ever seen. Even when Coop fades away he is in perfect control.
6. I talk about Gillis making winning plays. This one was the difference. Right before halftime. Gillis gets the loose ball, flips it quickly to Coop who drains a 3 at the halftime buzzer. Huge swing.
7. Love is going nuts on us. Gotta respect his game.
8. Duke in foul trouble; uh oh.
9. Cooper with the Zion like rejection. Cooper >Zion.
10. Duke up 8; Sion with a HUGE 3. Kon with some clutch free throws.
Great win. We definitely got Arizona's best shot. Refs letting them play; it is what it is. Fouls were close I think 2 more for Duke.
Survive and advance. Alabama will be tough but I think Cooper will be the difference. Great game by Jon and the team. 3 Elite Eights in 4 years is pretty impressive; but we need to break through tomorrow.
