Banchero

Not to get picky, but we are gonna need some 3 pt shooting. Banchero and Griffin are MEN, but perimeter shooting isn't what they excel at. Keels can score, but he's more of an athlete and less of a shooter. Baldwin is the key, he is a SUPER elite 3 point shooter and can score in other ways too. We should have a senior Joey Baker too, that would really help.

I think K is going all in on getting #6 for 2022, I also think he learned with the Zion class that you need to surround your studs with shooting and veterans, this team could have it all!

Call me greedy but i still think we get Houstan also.

Every single time I want to post something stupid like our recruiting is slipping we pull something like this. Every single time. We just went from very good to great next year.

We were definitely due. Washington must be bummed they didn't get this kid.

Not looking for inside information, a simple yes or no works perfectly for me...do you think it’s possible to get 2 of the following 3 - Keels, Baldwin, Houstan

I'm assuming we are the heavy leaders for Baldwin and Keels (could just be a matter of time before they commit), so you think we could get all 3 including Houstan??
I'd absolutely love that, but man we would have a lot of forwards. I guess if Paolo can play the 5 it opens up some room, but sheesh.

I think I’m just being greedy. Haha, i think Wendell will still be there, chance that DJ is also, who knows on Brakedfield. Lotta bodies. So maybe I’ll retract that.

My guess is that Hurt and Moore will move on after this year. But you never know. Hopefully the freshman come back, other than Johnson. We may lose one or two. We need another guard and a shooter.

I can’t find any full high school games of Paolo! I honestly have not watched a minute of him due to the fact, I thought we had zero chance with him. If any of u know where there is a full game with Paolo, can someone provide a link with a ful game. Looked on YouTube, but it’s all mixtapes and highlight reels!

He has an NBA ready body and game that is for sure. How high is he projected in the 2022 draft? (googled it he's at 4 on NBA Draft Room) Griffen was 3 believe it or not. Bates and Chet H were one and two.

One mock draft I read has Banchero at 4, I believe his player comparison was a mix of Carlos Boozer/Tobias Harris. That's pretty incredible because he has the strength (think Boozer shoulders) of Boozer and the ability to dribble and create some like Tobias Harris.

Anybody know what kind of free throw shooter he is? With that aggression he can rack up points at the line if he can shoot over 70%

Ours is only 2 and we got him, haha.

He'll never walk alone.

I still can’t believe we got Banchero. I had said many times the only way I see us with a chance to get him is if we land Chandler. Without Chandler I thought we were for sure out of it with Paolo. Boy am I happy to be wrong. Go get Baldwin and/or Keels and we’re set!

I am wanting Baldwin, Keels and would prefer Houstan over using that spot for Bedaiko. Houstan will end up being a top 5 prospect and a beast in college.

I think Bedaiko is an Alabama lean. Baldwin, and Keels are the two most likely to be at Duke. Before the Banchero commitment, I would have said Houstan was a definite lock for Duke, but now not so sure.

Banchero might not be a 3 pt specialist, Jwill, but he is good shooter and he can create his own shot. He is probably a better shooter than Carter and Bagley and is a better passer. Let's not forget that Trent and Grayson (love them both) were inconsistent at best and that team was still a fraction of an inch away from a FF. I mention this because any improvement in Bagleys or Carter's shooting and we would have been playing Nova for the title.
Baldwin's size, shooting, passing, and all around game would make this frontcourt potentially unstoppable.

Blanchero is a stud....reminds me a lot of Blake Griffin.

Him, Aj, with Baldwin IMO compliment each other much better than Z/Rj/Cam

Paolo can definitely really pass the rock from the high post. As well as grab a board and push the ball upcourt.

There are a few moving pieces but the talent Duke will have in 21-22 is shaping out to be one of the deepest in recent history. Should be really fun the next couple of years!!

Roach/3-4 Star backup
DJ (Keels)/Baker
AJ/Jaeymn
Pat/Coleman
Paolo/Wiliams

Ive got a feeling once we land Baldwin, either Coleman or Brakefield end up transferring. Neither of them really make sense playing backup at the SF position. On the other hand, Baker makes a ton of sense playing behind AJ at SF.

Brakefield is older for the class and at one point seriously considered reclassifying to the 2020 class. He played on the same AAU team with Johnson and his game is pretty complete, Although he might not have the opportunity to start like Stanley did, I fully expect him to want to get to the League as soon as he can.
On the other hand, Coleman is an guy that has come on lately and has grown. He is physically developed like a college SR already but he a guy that is starting to come into his own.

Lots of moving parts here and unknowns. Crazy how Brakefield, Coleman, and William's could all be good enough right away or grow enough to be 1 and done or not be ready to contribute at all next year. Then what about Roach and Steward?

I think we'd be really, really lucky to have Paulo and Brakefield as our forwards next year.
