A new season, but 2015 is still fresh in my mind

I know we have the videos thread pinned at the top of the page, and I know that practice is officially underway....meaning, before we know it, the start of the 2015-16 will be upon us. In fact, our first official game is exactly one month from today.

But, but, but.....I still just can't forget how fun last season was with that group. This has kind of become my favorite "pump" video (of the many made for last year's team) of that team, and that's partly because my five-year-old loves to watch it and sing along while it plays.

Basically, I'm feeling nostalgic today because it's currently 45 degrees in Minneapolis and it will be the first Tuesday in six months I'm not golfing. So I'm posting this for my benefit. Enjoy.

Still get the chills watching this. Not enough can be said about this team..just the energy and togetherness they had was unmatched. Its going to be different without Quinn there, but I think Marshall and Amille will bring it. Lets do this all over again this year.

Just an awesome video! I still get chills down my back. You never can take these things for granted, even though Duke has 5 of them. You never know when there will (or if) there will be another one. I'm still enjoying the hell out of this one...but I'm also ready to see our new team hit the floor too. Go Duke!

Steat already said it doesnt matter to them b/c K has the "TWS" the Tiger Woods Syndrome where all he cares about is winning and he's a complete psychopath and a horrible human being otherwise. Just wish we can one day get over losing Barnes to the heels, which he equates to losing a family member to death. But yeah, K's an asshole.

That team was just so much fun to watch. Love everything about how they played for one another and fought like hell every time our backs were against the wall. Such a special team that I will never forget. Hopefully the squad this season can replicate the run we had last year.

We know they hate K (and I understand it...except for the deep, dark twisted type of hatred they show), but the other stuff is just laughable. So he chokes...yeah...to the tune of 5 NCAA Championships, and over a 1000 wins. All he cares about is winning (and is a horrible person)...yeah...now that one is really funny. All those Duke players that played under him and show their support say hi). We know Dean, and Ol' Roy only care about the players....winning games...perish the thought. I mean, the 20 year scandal has all been about family...yeah...AFAMily.
I don't like the Tar Heels, and I give it to Roy every chance I get, but my hatred is sports hate only. I don't HATE Roy Williams, or the Heels. They are our rival, not terrorists. A little perspective is nice every once in awhile.

I still put the replay of the game on about once a week. If I get the chance to do some office work for a few hours I put it on in the background and listen to it in a mood of pure contentedness. It's glorious.

Having suffered through our first round losses especially fresh off last year and the humiliation that comes with it helps. You learn how hard it is. JJ's senior year and kyles senior year we had really good teams who could only muster a two win performance. Then we've had this legendary teams, Dawkins, 99 brand, 2004 with deng who came close and couldn't do it.


So you learn to love it, cherish it, be grateful for it as long as you can because it's the greatest gift a team can give its fans. I think about the poor Chicago cubs fans.

Soak it in I say as long as you want, it may be 20 years before another one. Tomorrow is never promised!
