There was no advance planning at all so FEMA was not in place for days. It was so bad that the White House posted on its own web site that they realized they needed to do better going forward and went through the steps they would take in the future. And Mac, what the hell difference does Harris’s laugh make to whether or not she would be a good president. The answer: absolutely nothing you misogynist idiot.

The hardest part is not being there but there is really not a good way to get to them. Her and her husband have done a good job raising their own vegetables and canning them. We were hoping they could get to us but even if they could, I don't think they would leave. Want to be there to help.

I live about 2 hours east of Boone, but what I’ve seen on social media is awful. They say it’s absolute chaos, and rumors swirling that people are being sent away wanting to help. I get that part. If non locals want to help, it might be best if they contact Samaritans Purse, or one of the other organizations that are up there.

Speaking of internet, it was Trump who contacted Elon Musk to help get satellite access to people so they could contact their loved ones while Biden was still vacationing on the beach. Harris was in San Francisco doing a fundraiser. This was going on while I was helping my son who lives in Ashe County get water out of his basement.

We send billions and billions of dollars to other countries and take care of illegal immigrants, but our government can’t even take care of our own. I think I read where FEMA doesn’t have enough in their budget to assist with another storm. $750 sure as hell won’t make a difference to these folks that have loss everything.

I live in Wilkesboro just below Boone. The whole northwestern part of NC looks like a war zone. Neighbors helping neighbors has been a wonderful thing to see. I had a guy that was able to help me get my 86 yr old MIL out of her home in Boone. We had to navigate around mudslides and down power lines and he even helped cut out two trees that had fallen on her truck. So yes, it pisses me off that our government is more concerned about other countries than our own citizens.

I watched an interview with someone who just got connected yesterday because of starlink. They said that the only people who anyone has had contact with were citizens who were going door to door checking on people. But because FEMA is in Asheville, that means that the government's response has been spectacular. The people who were going door to door were carrying 5 gallon buckets of water so they could help people flush their toilets. You know the government ain't doing that. But they'll write you a check!

To defend our government, especially FEMA, is like praising the Fire Department for getting to a house fire a couple hours after it started. The "only" help the residents of the mountains of NC got for several days was by citizens. Also, how could we watch videos of this on Tik Tok last Friday, but it was several days later before the MSM aired it? This is 2024, you mean to tell me NO ONE from the media has Tik Tok?

Yep!! Boog it's really about what I expected(although I swear I thought we'd get one in San Diego). We overcame great adversity just to sneak in playoffs considering a rash of injuries I hope we never see again. Strider and Acuna out virtually all year, Riley, Ozzie and others missing significant time. Simply a snakebit season.

You figure things have to go better next year. We'll see what goes down in offseason. Morton expected to retire(if not he won't be retained), Freeman is eligible for free agency(will we make him a big $$$ offer)? Also, rumor has it Ozuna is done in Atlanta. We'll see.
