I’m no Joey Brackets, but it seems to me that the competition for #1 seeds has greater clarity this year than most others at this time. There appear to be only 6 teams with realistic shots at this point. Gonzaga is a virtual lock, given their record, the win against Duke and the light competition they will face going forward. I doubt that even a loss in their conference tournament would cost them a 1 seed. Kentucky or Tennessee probably gets one, since the Committee won’t give three top seeds to the ACC and no one from the Big 10, Big 12 or Pac 12 is deserving. So it comes down to two spots for Virginia, Duke and UNC, probably the two that go the furthest in the ACC Tournament. And with Virginia now a virtual lock for the top seed in the ACC, the potential semifinal matchup between Duke and UNC will likely decide things regardless of what happens Saturday in Chapel Hill. Thoughts?
