Wendell Moore Season Film Breakdown

I am really excited to see what Moore brings this year. He has all the physical tools, and he definitely showed glimpses of brilliance last year and had that game winning tip in against UNC. I think he is going to explode this coming season.

He has a lot of ups in his game. So happy he came back. OFC

I am really glad he's back. My hope would be he becomes an all ACC performer and leader on the team. He showed a lot of promise but needs to work on shooting and being in control when driving. I think he will improve a lot, but shooting does not always improve despite our wishes. But even if his shooting doesn't improve he can be very effective. My guess would be 14ppg and he's our best defender.

I'm not sure what to make of him on the offensive end with all of those weapons this season, but i do expect a lot of energy and some really good defense.

I agree with all of this, his defense and versatility alone makes him a very valuable asset

I'll say it again. Our opponents are going to have their hands full defending Johnson, Hurt, and Moore when they hit the floor. And, I think the other 2 spots, whether they are a 1 and 2 guard, or 1 and a 5, will provide better than adequate offense, making those 3 even tougher to handle.

13-14 ppg, some amazing defense, and some much better ball handling, and Wendell could very well play himself into the back-end of the lottery next year.
I think Wendell's contributions next year will go well beyond just looking at the box score.

He may not be our best player, but I think he's gonna be our most important player, just like Justise Winslow.

Moore and Hurt will likely grow into the all ACC type players we thought they would be this year. Which should be kept in mind with this years group as only Johnson could be an impact freshman in a consistent sense. Maybe Roach too.

Duke will several different lineup options and you're definitely right, opponents will have their hands full. Very versatile group.

I have no clue how to predict Wendells stats for next year but i think he will be a Swiss army, do everything type of kid. Much improved in many areas over last year. Most importantly, i can see him being a natural vocal leader. He can be a steady hand and voice on defense all season long. I expect Hurt to be the leading scorer and if not Jalen. Both should be about 17+ ppg. Wendell should make his impact on the game in every category. All ACC Defense, 2nd or 3rd team ACC would be an outstanding season for him and i can see it happening.

That seems ambitious to me. That said, I hope you're right!

It's always hard to judge the growth, especially with no post season to give experience for next year. But I really do hope they commit and make that jump.

Agreed my point was more that we seem to project best possible outcomes for freshman.

Good article in DBR or BallDurham about not sleeping on Braekfield. Thing I like is that lots of experts saying Johnson, Steward, and William's being significantly underrated.

Jalen is going to come in with a massive chip on his shoulder. And i can not wait.

Man, I love chips. Potato chips, nacho chips, corn chips.....but most of all I love my chips served up on the shoulders of Duke basketball players. I think it's a vital element of a team to have a couple players like that. Cassius showed some flashes of it last year. IMHO we could have used a little more of it at times.

Bring it Jalen!!!
