UK draw ... And the other regions

First - I think UK has as good a shot to win the title as any team entering the NCAAs in several years. I think they should be prohibitively favored and if they didn't have "UK" on their label, they really would be a fun team to watch b/c they play defense exceptionally well and use their length very effectively.

That said, I don't think the Committee could have given a better draw to UK. They don't play any team in their region that offers a modicum of a threat. Really wish UNC were #4 there instead of Maryland. At least we'd be able to see one hated team go down. ;)

Second, of the teams that have the size, athleticism and strength to match up with UK, three of them are in the same region (Arizona, Wisconsin, UNC). The two teams I would think would have the best chance against UK in the entire tournament would be Wisconsin and Arizona and they are in the same region (really think there is something wrong in that seeding). Would have liked to see them in a different region and both make the FF. Really that West region is brutal, imo.

Duke's draw is not so bad - though I think SDSU would be a tough draw. But, while Duke can lose to anyone because they are up and down, if they play decently, they should get to the elite 8 and Gonzaga - while one of Few's best teams - has question-marks.

The 'Nova-UVA region strikes me as a hodgepodge region - 'Nova hasn't had a strong schedule, imo, and are the weakest of the 4 #1 seeds. UVA is not the same since Justin Anderson went down and unless he's back on full, I don't see them making a run. If he is, they could be dangerous. But, who knows? Oklahoma - though I am not a fan overall and find their 3 seed too high - has to be salivating a bit. Really, any team below a 1 seed has to be happy they are not in UK's region.

Keep in mind that UK beat this exact Wisconsin team in the tourney last year - with a far less superior squad.

The only 3 teams i didnt want to see before the F4 were Iowa St, ND and Maryland for some reason they just say upset about them watching them all year. Figures we got 2 of the 3 in our bracket and could play them in the S16 and E8 back to back. Im not saying we cant beat them but of the other teams outside the big 8 teams those were the ones i wanted to avoid. I do think ISU is the best of the 3 and ND has no size at all and plays little defense but could get hot and shoot lights out with Grant trying to take the game over. Maryland has a stud frosh PG to dictate tempo and Wells is a very good player but other then that i really like our bracket and think we make the F4.

I don't think we have room to complain about draws. We are set up nicely. If UK wins their region and then 2 more games, they deserve to be champs, and to go down as one of the best, if not best team in history.

With that said, I think there are a lot of teams that "can" beat Kentucky in a 1-game series with the pressure mounting.

Why even play the tourney, go ahead and give Kentucky the trophy!!! Sick up people saying Kentucky is better then everyone else, have they beat everyone.

Well, we lost to UNLV by 30 and beat the same team the next year. What happens the year before with players a year older really is meaningless.

Wisconsin would certainly not have a great chance, but they match up well relative to other schools with their size.

I actually think the committee did a really good job this year. It seems that all regions are fairly equal in terms of difficulty. If there was ever a reason to give someone an easy draw, UK earned it this year. But again, I think all draws are fairly solid this year.

Hopefully we get to see UK vs Duke in the title game. Its the one matchup I have wanted to see all year. We both have a ways to go before that though.

On paper I think Duke and UK got the best draw , but who knows . I doubt many top seeds looked at their brackets last year and feared a UCONN team that was coming off a 33 point loss to LOUISVILLE . That's one thing that makes this tournament so great .

I know nobody wants to say it, but Maryland is a scrappy damn team and they are just built to pull an upset on big teams. I would not be shocked at all if they beat Kentucky. I also would not be shocked at all if they lost to the worst team possible. That's how the Terps roll. But , let's don't give Kentucky the trophy just yet, let's make'em earn it first, shall we?

Lets wait till Maryland beats Valpo today lol the way 3 seeds are going cough ISU and ND.

I don't have anything against Kentucky, but even if they go unbeaten and win the NCAA Tourney, they will never go down as the best team in History!!! That's not even debatable, if for nothing else, they won't even be the best team in Kentucky history. Just sayin'.
Go Duke!!
