Sorry if it's already been posted. Okay, #6 commentary....cracked me up.
Great thread!
When Winslow steps on the court he is a human highlight reel! Even with him only being here 1 year, he will easily be one of my top 3 players. I loved watching and will miss him big time!
ODD ^ how do I find the old editor on here to get the pics to show up?
I get a boner.Every time I see Tyus hit that three against Wisconsin, I get goosebumps.
How is this not in the Top Plays?!?
I was at this game and I thought the building was going to crumble with the all the shouting and jumping. Will never forget it.
You may need to get that checked out.
One of the best parts about the clip is Perrantes' reaction to the Tyus 3. UVa decided to play straight D and go for a 3 to tie w/ about 10 seconds left, and that 3 sealed it. Perrantes just deflates.Quinn & Tyus' threes at UVA knocked me off the couch. That was big time.
I think Tyus was deserving of all those awards, but I think I know what you mean. Near the end of the regular season I heard a discussion on the radio where someone said Jahlil was our best player, but Tyus was our most valuable player, and Justise was our most important player. I might have the exact description of Justise off a little... most indispensable, maybe... In any event, the idea was that he was kind of an X-factor, like he was the biggest match-up nightmare for other teams and did so many different things well. Aside from foul trouble, there wasn't a line-up on the court we wouldn't want him to be a part of. Even his shaky free throws couldn't detract from his value as a tertiary ball-handler, passer, and athlete in end game situations. He could do a little bit of everything, and a lot of most things. I don't recall our ever using him at the 2 on offense, but I'm convinced he could have played there in a pinch, and he was well suited for either traditional forward spot.I don't know if it has completely sunk in just how good Justice Winslow was...especially in the tournament. He was the most dominant all-around player in every game Duke played down the stretch.
His physical approach defensively and on the boards at that position was incredible but he also played with such great IQ which isn't something you always expect from someone that has so many athletic gifts.
We should almost start a separate thread for all the videos. I feel like I've seen 20 different one's in the last three weeks but I never remember which thread they were in. We could pin it up too so people can go back and enjoy anytime these want.
