that's rich. That joke was absolutely disgusting and I can't help but believe it was intended to be offensive. For all of your bemoaning the fact that the two sides can't talk to each other, you could perhaps ask that we ALL keep this kind of offensive garbage out of the conversation. Instead you turn it on me. That you all have circled the wagons to tell me that I am the problem really underscores what is wrong with this country. Either you know I am right and just plain don't care or you refuse to understand why that joke was so offensive in which case it is impossible to have any meaningful conversation. If the joke had hit closer to home, you might feel differently.

Of course it was an offensive joke. I don't think anyone is denying that. It wasn't racist. That's where you are wrong. And calling everything racist is more what's wrong with this country than you being called out for unreasonably accusing someone of being racist because you didn't like WHO they were making a joke about. If you had just said it was an offensive joke, you could have possibly had a discourse. But you played the race card which removed any possibility for discourse. And you continually duck meaningful conversations. So quit pretending they're important to you.

Nice try but it is not me, who has made that argument., it is black activists and social workers who have made that connection. They have complained that now that the opioid crisis is hitting white suburban kids everyone is calling for treatment instead of jail while when the crack epidemic was decimating the black community, the first line of defense was to arrest the users.
