The opening game is what I thought when I saw the title of your thread, Sky...but now...I'm stumped! I'll just take a guess, is it Christmas?

I've been wondering what I would say when it came to my 25,000th post. My first post came on 3/4/2006. Those years have passed quickly. I lurked for a while before I had the courage for my first post. I'm sure it was very awkward and would love to go back and see what it was. I remember making quite a few awkward post but some of the vets here helped out. One time I referred to UK as KU and spelled Tar Heels as Tarheels to which Detroit Heel set me straight. Anyone remember him. That's back when we had quite a bit of the THR regulars posting here. Things change. To tell you the truth it's been much more than just discussing Duke basketball. It's been more about the friendships that have been formed over the years. There's are so many of you. I've only met 4 of you in person so those 4 are the only ones I could recognize. I had lunch with K-Ville, Nivram, and Heyman25. I met Spike briefly at a duke BB game. Spike and Heyman25 have become face book friends on a duke basketball group. There are a couple more of are on the same face book friends group but have never revealed your nicknames to me. I wish we could all get together some time and watch a Duke -UNC game in one big room or better still all of us have tickets behind the Duke bench in Cameron vs. UNC. We'd show the crazies what it's all about wouldn't we. Do you think HOF Coach would ask security to have us all escorted out. Can you see them trying to take show out. LOL. But maybe it's best we don't meet. There is one of you however that I feel very close to but have never met. Dirt I love you man. That's on my bucket list to meet dirt. The reason dirt and I have so many likes is because we give each other so many likes. I admire you so much and would love to meet you. You are the perfect example of the way a man should love his wife and every one of us here should be so like you. I've gained a wonderful daughter-in-law and two dream grandsons since I've started posting. I have a son who I couldn't have placed an order with Heavenly Father and gotten a better one. He's just as big of a Dukie as I am and I wish he would post more but he loves his family and doesn't have the spare time I do. Now my wife. She's something special too. Just in case some of you don't know she is a caregiver to her 98 year old mom who lives with us. Her mom has dementia and it's a 24/7 job and I really mean 24/7. My wife thinks I'm addicted to this board and she's probably right. Throughout these years I've posted some pretty dumb things that don't make a bit of since but I hope I've added something to the board. I hope I've made some of you laugh. I think if you laugh everyday your life will be enriched. This has been a long post and I thank all of you who have had the patience to read through it. Reminds you of a THR poster doesn't it. A few things I want all of you to remember . I'm not gonna change my posting style. I'll never let up on HOF Coach Roy Williams and UNC nation. And last I love Duke University sports and I love all of you. Bless your hearts and I know I am a blessed man. OFC
Great post my friend...you are the best! There is no doubt that you're the most liked person on this board, and deservedly so. I love Duke basketball, but the comradery of this board, and special people like you are why I plop down in front of my computer more than I should. I hope I'm around to read the next 25,000...'cause Roy isn't the most interesting man in the world...you are.

Oh, and don't want to take away from you milestone, but a few weeks ago I went over to PackPride to read their UNC thread, and there was a poster on there that had 149,000+ posts!!! I can't remember his handle to say my life...(I think because I couldn't believe the number of posts). I checked the number 3 times to make sure.

Congrats on the two grandsons. My first grandson is now three weeks old. James Aiden.
If you remember, I lost my Dad 9 months ago. It's been hard on me. I found out a week after his funeral that I was going to have a grandchild. Aiden was a special gift at the time I needed one the most.
My son passed on my Dads, mine, my sons name, James.
There's no doubt my Dads looking down with a big smile. I just wish he could have met Aiden.

Thanks all. By the way. Ponarkel who covered for me when my account got messed up had 300 plus post in my absence. He did a great job while I was out of the loop and it's as if I were doing posting myself. Everyone needs a Ponarkel in their life. OFC
