I 100% understand Semi's reasons for leaving Duke.. He has a NBA body and NBA athletism, he just needs to develop the NBA skill to have a chance to make it to the NBA.. and at Duke he wasn't getting the playing time to develop that skill.. I didn't necissarily disagree with his playing time because he was on a Final Four talented team.. that's expected.

But my (hypothetical) question is.. If Duke wins the National Championship, do you think Semi wishes he would have finished out this season at Duke and then transferred after the season?

Yeah, he would missed a half season of eligibility with his new team.. BUT he would have got to experience winning a N.C. and most likely, he would have got a couple more minutes of playing time after Rasheed was dismissed.. a National Championship is something only a very small % of players get to experience & something Semi will (most likely) not have a chance to experience now..

* I'm not going to ask this question about Rasheed, because him leaving was not his choice.. I'm sure he wishes he was on the team.

Does he have to sit out 2 years if he decides to transfer back to Duke?

If Duke wins tonight, he should show up on the bench on Monday, like "April Fools! I never transferred"

Coach K gave some great interviews this week, and he talked a lot about chemistry and direction. It would not surprise me, and I said it earlier, if Semi might have been a chemistry problem regardless if he was a 'good guy'. The team is fluent without Sheed and Semi and I do not apologize for saying it! And I like Semi and Sheed!

Silent G, Semi, and Alex Murphy should all be embarrassed. I mean it. I have no sympathy for transfers. IMO they are quitters. Did Quinn Cook quit? How about MP3?

No...they put their hard hats on and came to work. On Monday night they will play on the biggest stage in college basketball. The other 3 will never be heard from again most likely.

I transferred from one college to another...what does that make me? These kids aren't quitters

To be honest, Duke transfers have been really easy to swallow. Pretty much no one has gone on to be a stud after leaving Duke- and I think that validates the Duke staff's decision to keep them on the bench. And for the kid, that's no knock on them. The kid perhaps viewed himself as more talented than her turned out being, and that lack of development makes Duke a tough place to stick at. Not every kid is like Hairston, and can embrace a limited role year in and year out.

I don't really blame Semi- he'd likely admit that he didn't develop the way that he wanted to develop, and if you don't develop at Duke, you're not gonna play. Perhaps there's another situation that could utilize his services that isn't as competitive as Duke. Certain situations aren't for everyone, and sometimes, players have to experience said situations to fully know.

The landscape of CBB and transfers is a little frustrating, but it is what it is. Again, I transferred to another college to find a better fit for me and my academic goals- and if a kid is also doing that, I don't blame them.

I don't understand guys transferring to other big programs in Power Conferences.. I know they aren't quite Blue Blood status, but teams like Syracuse & Florida aren't going to be TOO much easier to get playing time with..

I think Semi was smart not to go to a big time program.. He may actually be able to get some PT and showcase his talent..

Murphy left, just to get the same amount of PT he would probably be getting at Duke at this point in his career.. but now he's on a team that has very little chance of winning anything significant before he graduates.. Not to mention, at Duke, just about every game is Nationally televised.

Every situation is different. We can't know their issues or what they could be dealing with. Calling them quitters is one of the most ludicrous things I've ever heard.

Murphy was close with Florida before he came to Duke so that's probably why. Brother was there and he has gotten some playing time. Many of us thought of singler, dunleavy, etc when we were getting him(.white tall athletic shooters) it's not what we thought. Or what alex thought. Not a quitter i would say.
