What a play-by-play guy. One of the best. My favorite game he ever called:

I grew up with that voice and have missed him calling games for a while now. Very few as good as Mike Patrick.
That is sad. At first I read this as Dan Patrick and I was shocked. I liked Mike. My main memory of him was the Maryland game. I think he is with Bilas on my March Madness game.

I will always associate him with Duke. Some of the best games I watched were called by him. Specifically, the 2001 season.

I'm gonna miss him terribly. He might be the last link from the 80's and 90's (maybe Tim Brando was commentating for the ACC then but I don't think so). He had a great voice, and it was really good to hear him in a tight game. I know that he had that gaffe with Todd Blackledge and Brittney Spears, but man he was great. And God bless him for having to put up with Vitale.
Clarksburg, WV's finest.
I loved some of his quirks.
"Lee Melchionni, check it Shelden Williams, coming in for Duke". He loved to use check it
"Jason Williams is 6-17 with 6 made free throws and hasn't played well. Makes you wonder what he'd do on a good day?"
He was a great setup man. Really thought he was the best at being the coatholder for an analyst since Jim Thacker.
The ACC was blessed to have some great pbp guys.
