Mitchell is averaging 23.9 minutes per game. Do you guys think that will hold once Whitehead is back full time? Also, does Lively's absence affect Mark's minutes?

Mitchell is a four . His best work is around the basket . His defense at the sf position is needed especially with Whitehead out . Lively out just causes for him to be the only player on the bench to log minutes at both the sf/pf spot. He starts and then comes in for either Flip or Young . Lively if healthy helps keep his minutes below 23 minutes a game and Whitehead back healthy and up to speed enables him to play back up at sf and pf giving Flip more rest .

Hmm. Hammer good questions. I haven't really thought about or researched it, but it seems there would be some impact to Mark's minutes. FWIW, Mark can be an impact player at times, and I wish he would attack the hoop more. He CAN hit the three, but I certainly wouldn't call him a pure shooter by any means.

Yes again I would say is the answer to your questions. Lively's presence is sorely needed for a semblance of rim protection as opposed to Mark.Whitehead is probably the better overall player than Mark, although that's been slow to emerge with Dariq's injury.

Still Mitchell has a great upside. I think he will continue to emerge, and hopefully help us win some games. OFC

I like Mitchell a lot, especially how hard he plays. He seems a little undersized right now for a 4 though. We have to be careful about believing the heights the team gives players. He's kind of a hybrid right now. Unfortunately, he seems like the kind of guy who will really excel in his sophomore year but his soph year will probably be in the G league.

Not in disagreement over anything here, but the love Dariq gets is confusing to me. The kid clearly has talent, and probably has a higher ceiling- but it sure as heck isn't in his one year at Duke. I would much rather Mitchell be on the floor than him.

At some point he has to start being a difference maker. As of now, he's extremely overhyped, which to an extent isn't his fault. Outside of Giles- can you think of a more disappointing 1/3 of a season for the #2 overall recruit? Maybe Reddish, but Cam atleast had his moments. Hopefully better days are to come from him.

I completely get what you're saying though Hart.

I like the starting line up of Lively, Flip, Mitchell, Proctor and Roach. Unless Whitehead really explodes let him be the scorer off the bench. He really hasn't earned a starters' spot imo over Mitchell to this point. Not his fault, but I get a little tired of hearing about upside. Mitchell has upside as well. Let Lively and Young split time at the 5.

To go with this Chris. Do we see him more as a hybrid four? I think that is his position . Playing the four but being able to guard the three.

Mitchell is probably a 4. Whitehead a 3. But I also believe in playing your best guys, and right now those are our 5 best.

It’s obvious by now half these guys are frauds. Flip pretty good. Roach solid pg. who’s not even healthy. The rest? Have fun with that.

We are 10-3 with several good wins. I do think the next 6 games are tough. We should beat FSU. We really have to. @NC State, we've lost there with better teams. BC and Pitt we should beat, although Pitt is playing well. Then @Clemson and Miami.

They're really "tough,"
considering how we played @ Wake, not knowing Jeremy's status, Whitehead, Lively, etc.

I would say the upcoming slate is a minefield, and we would be very fortunate to go 3-3. Pitt is a type game first glance you think we should win. However Capel has them on the upswing lately, and will take his best shot at K's successor. OFC

4-2 to my eye. But that's assuming Roach is healthy. Would really suck if Capel came in and beat Jon at Cameron.

I would take the 4-2, and yes it "would really suck" if Cape tops Scheyer in Durham. Capel will really bring the heat. That one will be personal to him, and Jon must make sure we match the Panthers' and Jeff's intensity.

Comon man you're better than that. We are all frustrated but there is still a lot of season left. Do we need to toughen up? Yes.

I’m trying to give ‘em some tough love. I heard the players hang on our every word. I’ve heard they turn down potential liaisons with coeds cus they are preoccupied with their phones, wondering if KD or Christophero have posted anything about them

They did. I was running errands and got home and they had already won. Sounds like it was a nailbiter. 11-4 I'll take it.

I think he plays and Lively and Whitehead. If Flip or Young go down it’s going to be a tough game against FSU.
