The definition of why you hang in there and fight for playing time, hard work, extreme effort. I am so proud of Jacks game and his rebounding , positioning and defensive efforts are second to none. This is the best bench I've seen at Duke for many years. We are built for a championship run this season. Jack White will be a huge part of that.

We are going to win it all and Jack is going to be one of the big reasons we bring #6 to Durham. Love the kid.

You could tell when Jack was a freshman that somehow he would be a very important piece in Duke's success. You could see then the qualities he had. His production per minutes played has to be high. I'm going out on a limb and say he will get a shot at the next level. The NBA has been full of Jack White players for years. OFC

I hope he is not forgotten or overlooked. OFC

I'm really impressed with not only how his game has developed but also how he has stepped into the leadership role so effectively. As great as the freshman phenoms are, without that upperclassman leadership it's hard for a young team to find consistency. He is critical to this team.

He is also doing great getting blocks and steals. Great job getting in the passing lanes and blocking shots for a guy not noted for his length or quickness. Showing great hands stripping guys of the ball. Getting "mans" rebounds too. Very tough, contested rebounds. He makes the plays that get you really pumped!

I am loving his game and leadership. Points aside, he has led the team in rebounding multiple games this year, and his hustle is off the charts. He has a nose for the ball, he just seems to find it and go get it. When he hits an open 3 or grabs an offensive board for a put back like he did at the halftime buzzer against Yale it's just icing on the cake. I am so glad K sees his value to the team!

I remember yesterday after a timeout, I told my wife look at Jack. He was making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be on defense. Love it!
Jack is respected on the court by his team that we all see because of things he does in practice and off court that we never see. He and Jav seem to provide a collective focus for the team.

Jack White is Duke basketball. I can't say enough about what he means to this team, and besides everyone above has done that for me.

Jack White has NBA potential. Minus the ability to create off the bounce, is he any worse than Singler?

Love Jack. Think he just needs to work on being a tad bit more aggressive offensively. He has a good shot, but needs to expand off that.

He may be as good a rebounder as I’ve seen, especially considering he’s 6’7”.

Great point QC. I think he communicates on the floor with the team as well as anyone!

I think we've seen the arc of players like Jack, Marques and Javin so far this season....and in addition to those guys, even some with AOC and Goldwire, too. I'm still hoping AOC can become more of a factor as the season goes on. Something tells me we're going to need him in some big spots this season, especially considering our perceived lack of shooting.

I guess we don’t agree.

Kyle was better out on the perimeter and certainly as a creator, but Jack can shoot set shots better. Kyle was the better overall college player in a vacuum, but Jack is the better complementary piece for a team with Zion and RJ. I think he may be better suited than Kyle for contributing in the post Warriors NBA.

Singler was a wonderful player while at Duke and had some good moments in the NBA. He was clutch and what a warrior. For some reason when I think of him I see the blood trickling down his face and his body going over the scorers table to get a loose ball. How great would it be if we had a Kyle Singler type player every year. Jack is close. OFC

I disagree. I love Jack, but comparing him to a Final Four MOP, four-year starter and 2,000-point scorer seems like a reach. I'm guessing Kyle would be a better set-shooter than Jack, but we really never got to see that because Kyle was always a main focal point on offense. He just had to work and create more for his offense. Their roles are quite different.

Key word here is “perceived”.

I’m with Timo on this. And I’m not taking any shots at Jack.

Jack’s biggest assets are grit, leading by example and a nice set shot from beyond the arc. Singler is in a different category of player.

I love them both but the only comparison I see between them is they both will run through a brick wall to get a loose ball or make a play. Like the above post Kyle was a 2,000 point scorer and a most outstanding player. Jack's not gonna score 2,000 points but he could still be the most outstanding player. You just never know. OFC

Jack White is awesome. He's not Singler levels yet. Singler did it all. And Singler had a toughness few can display. I put his toughness right in there with Battier and Grayson. Just seemed like you couldn't hurt him. But I see where DD was going. IF, Jack continues improving at the rate he's been on, kid could really turn some heads soon. I LOVE his rebounding, floor talk and determination. And I trust his corner 3 everytime .

He could end up being the Quinn Cook/Lance Thomas of this years team. Absolutely love the kid, his dedication to the program, and what he brings to the table.

Do you guys think White could be a low paid specialist in the NBA?
In the current NBA, yes. Every team will take a guy who can make stand-still threes (granted Jack has never shot an “NBA” three, he is always right on the line).

Plus Jack’s best value is the flexibility he provides, the NBA, like K, values position-less basketball as much as ever. Jack is too slow to guard 2’s, but he can play the 3 or 4 position, and heck, sometimes the 5. The Hornets play freaking Kidd-Gilchrist at center all the time now. Jack can rebound with NBA bigs, truly believe that.

Back to the Jack versus Singler debate....obviously Jack's college career is not even gonna end up on the same planet as Singler's career, and that's even if we go on to win #6 this year with Jack being a big part of that. But YES, I do think Jack can have a more successful NBA career than Singler.
Like stated above, Jack fits to what the modern NBA is looking for. Singler absolutely did not, he was never a stand-still shooter, and he was too bad at defense to have much flexibility, he could only play 1 position, the stretch 4.
Did anyone expect Lance Thomas to have a better NBA career than Jahlil Okafor????
