A Hole on the scout board talking about why it is obvious kids should want to play for Roy over K. Another Hole that is right there when Roy is talking to them! Ha.

Personally, I do feel like my board is better than the Rupp Raftees crowd. I feel we are lightyears better. And, maybe, you disagree. Which is fine. But, I know if I was a Kentucky fan, I probably wouldn't want to be associated with the nonsense that goes on at that board.

They have some good posters. I used to talk to some of them there before they banned me. However, they almost seem to be a minority to me.


I am 100% when I feel unquestionably better to be a part of my board than the Kentucky board and that I do feel as fans we have more class and respect for the game (mostly).

As a RR guy, let me put it like this.

We can't get anyone on the board to admit to calling the guy or making a threat (yes, some regulars admitted to silly reviews like "Higgins came to my house, clogged my toilet, and hit on my 11 year old son instead of fixing my roof...").

In other words, while some RR guys might've contributed to that awful mess, and a couple random guys claimed he deserved it, the community sentiment/peer pressure on the board is such that nobody (that I've seen) will admit to having actually threatened him or called his business. If anybody has, it would only be a tiny fraction, because I haven't seen it.


On the other hand, on the TarHeel boards, a huge chunk of posters openly admit to buying the unequivocal bull-ish that your multi million dollar PR moves have produced.
Seriously, run down the line of head-up-backside logic:

"A bunch of normal students took fraudulent classes, too, therefore, the athletes weren't getting any special benefits, so their eligibility shouldn't be questioned."

"Maybe that player didn't complete enough legitimate credits to be eligible that semester, but you don't know whether or not he could've passed *real* classes instead, so therefore we have to assume his eligibility."

"A secretary arbitrarily assigning a grade that another person requested for a student via email isn't the same as cheating. If they did work, they did work, and the grade was given in exchange for the work. It's only the school's right to decide if that's sufficient."

"It definitely makes sense that at UNC, we made clandestine arrangements to keep academically struggling women's players eligible, but would not do the same for the men's team."

"The NY times articles were just hit pieces due to an agenda - the reality is that nobody educated thinks that Carolina is guilty of anything serious.. the sentiment on THR is totally mainstream"

"Student athletes (a tiny % of the population) were only half the students in the classes - therefore it's definitely not tied to athletics."


Did I miss any? Everybody blames refs when they lose a close game in the tournament. If that doesn't happen, then you don't have a fanbase.

We're mad at Higgins on RR, but we malign the idiots who called and threatened him. On the other hand, the particular brand of idiocy that your board exhibits is celebrated and kept center stage.

It seems whenever unc wins a natty or a big game they get dumber and dumber over there. On second thought when they lose bg games they still get dumb and dumber over there. OFC
 
College basketball awards thread. OFC

This selection committee is awful.:(

1. Josh Hart---a guard, was chosen the top small forward(Julius Erving award).
*Justin Jackson was hands down the best SF this season.*
Even Isaac, Brooks, Ojeleye and a few others were better

2. Przemek Karnoski---top center(Kareem Abdul Jabbar award)
*Meeks had a far better year and out played him head to head.*

It seems that THR regulars are not sure about getting Knox now.So he is now an entitled jerk who they do not really want.It will be interesting to see what type of a miracle attitude shift he underwent if he does go to UNC

I hate some of the comments that are being made about him over there. I mean he's just a kid going through the process like anyone else.

The only drawback to winning it all is now people are absolutely convinced OADs are the scum of the earth and we don't anyone in the top 10 to win. It's a crock.

Agreed, there's no definitive way to determine if OAD or non-OAD are the way to win championships. In the last 10 seasons you can point to examples of both winning, but at the same time there's a number of factors that go into each championship win.

Then again, if Duke was passed up year after year when it comes to elite recruits and we won a championship without them, I'd probably be bitter about it like some of these UNC fans are.

He like the rest of these recruits are all still just kids. Most of them have it together a lot better than I did at that age. Perhaps some of those giving Knox a hard time are just kids themselves. That would explain it. OFC

Huffman will be an All-ACC type big by the end of his soph year. He's a monster who just has to be coached the right way, and RW is the man to do it.

Manley will take a little longer, but he has a nice touch and abilty to face the basket.

Don't worry about any rankings.

I saw that over there too. Amazing. They have been tying to act so confident that they thing Knox for a couple months now, almost cocky about it. I have been laughing at them the whole time. Now something comes up that makes them feel less confident and it is "Well if he doesn't wanna come to UNC then he isn't a Roy kinda guy, don't let the door hit ya on the way out..." Haaa Haaa.

You're completely right. OAD teams certainly have the ability to win championships but there are far more tangibles to winning a natty than just that. Coaching and team chemistry being two of many. And I think you're onto something here. High level NBA talent used to be a given for us. Now we're struggling with them for a multitude reasons. But it's caused some to shun them altogether because they're too proud to admit we'd be better with them than without.

I would tend to agree with you especially on the last part. Probably quite a few that are around 18, and every board has them. But put in the same position as these kids with the same athletic gifts, who's to say how we would act? Bottom line, I want Knox and I think anyone with sense wants him. Didn't hear my fellow heels fans complaining about Marvin Williams, Brandan Wright or even Harrison Barnes, who most certainly would have left after a year were it not for the lockout.

Oh yeah, and the one guy says Dean was better than K, then Calhoun was better than K and now Roy is better. K was never the best in any era. Lol. They are so paranoid/PISSED over the success K has brought to Duke.

Idiots at THR in a thread about Bob Ryan on Sports Reporters pretty much saying it is sickening that the Holes were even able to play in the tournament let alone win it. Of course most of them talk about how everyone on the panel knows nothing blah, blah, blah. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the president of ESPN a Hole grad?? Lol. You can't make it up. But yeah, ESPN has an anti Hole agenda. Haa. Oh, and the Lance Thomas LOAN is up to six figures now. Lol. They increase the amount over there all the time.

Is it just me or have the village idiots been unusually quiet after winning a national title? Walmart is usually full of em around here in the Carolinas. Is it maybe because they realize a couple of their bogus titles may be taken away soon?

Well, Code234, it baffles most people's minds why anyone would want to play for that phony ass Roy and be associated with UNCheat. If the 2005 and 2009 banners don't come down then the NCAA are an even bigger joke than they already are.

I must agree...The ANTICIPATION of seeing those shirts EVERYWHERE has been much worse than the real deal. If I were one of their fans, I certainly wouldnt be proud to wear one, and would know I was only setting myself up for verbal potshots over the scandal....
