Favorite THR Quotes....

Check out the fly by from Guru Gary last night. Left the whole damn Tarheel nation in a dither. Deserted his troops on the quick, just when they needed him most! This coming from "Quick Stuff"...

...and this won't take long.

- The ACC should be embarrassed by this. Sadly, I'm sure they're not.

That's it. Gonna go out and catch a couple of bands.

Dude, if you took the abuse that I did all week here you would understand. I'm not saying you, because you seem like a pretty good guy, but the idiots around here are relentless.

You mean from heels fans? I assume you mean outside of DI.

You haven't had many opportunities to come over here after Tar Hole victories the last several years....

Well yeah, considering I haven't even been a member on rivals for a year...

Last night, in hindsight, is almost completely on Roy.

Joel Berry is the engine of our team and though he shouldn't have picked up those fouls, Roy didn't pull him when he picked up number three and didn't put him back in soon enough after he got number four.

It is the most infuriating event to witness, when Roy won't take a timeout to stop a run that everyone knew was coming when the team lost composure, but calls one down 10 points with 40 seconds left and the game out of reach.

Shocking he didnt take a TO during our 7-0 run that bumped it to 77-70. Thought that was difference...No question you have unbelievable talent and a deep bench- thats why most have you as odds on fave to take it all.

For us to comeback from 14 down w/13 mins to go in our 3rd game in 3 days was a huge accomplishment against your favored team....For about 27 mins UNC was pretty dominant.....I think we helped our resume considerably.

Completely understand that point of view, but I don't necessarily have any problem with Berry being left in with three. A lot of coaches have faith in their upperclassmen to be smart in that instance, particularly in a tournament game. I feel certain K would have left him in there as well.

28 Fouls UNC / 20 Fouls Duke Gives Duke the Game

All of the no calls against Duke (Coach K working officials) took us out of the game. If the game was called equally both ways, no way that Duke wins. We controlled Duke most of the game until Berry gets into foul trouble. To rub salt in the wound during the loss, we had to hear Duke announcers on Raycom (Gminski) and ESPN (Bilas) who were gushing about how great Duke is. We lost the game to Duke/ESPN/Raycom/Officials/Coach K.

Well, our guys are told, and are well aware of what to expect in a dook game. Unfortunately it's hard to prepare for an ambush like JB's first foul. First damned defensive possession, Jefferson picks off JB with one of his illegal screens and JB gets f***ing called for "holding". Holding whom?

Maddeningly, that particular illegal "hand-off" screen was supposed to be a 2016-17 Point of Emphasis for officials. On hand-offs the screener's body is supposed to be still, and not ass-bumping or turning into the defender --- and sure as hell (as in this case) not stepping into the defender's path while perpetrating the hand-off.

Make no mistake: This is a blatantly, patently illegal screen... and not a hard one to see for that trail zebra. In fact, it's damned near impossible not to see (as the "WTF?" looks on JB's and Kennedy's faces would indicate).

K called that play on the opening possession becuase he knows Jackson's got nothing for Berry head-up. Hell, he got half his points in the last game off of Jefferson's screen-shenanigans (which is bad enough) but that gawdawful foul call put JB in the hole for the rest of the game.

...and unfortunately that was only the beginning.

Seriously, Gary-7

did the refs make justin Jackson shoot 6-22? did the refs tell roy to stop scoring in the paint? did the refs tell roy he couldn't call timeouts? did the refs only let duke make all those 3s?

Thats sort of my point. No the reffing wasn't great but it's not the main reason Carolina lost. So many other factors played into that collapse.

Yea I don't think the refs were the main reason either. I think the main reason was that Duke is just a better team. Not being a wise guy, just stating a fact. Maybe Carolina was the better team earlier in the season, but not now.

Like how Gary says Duke gets an easy path again and UNC gets screwed.

Then says south Carolina, SMU, Baylor, Villanova would all beat Duke.

So which is Gary? Hard path? Easy Path? Or you're retarded?

Some guy named RealFreedom telling the truth up in THR....

"Let us not forget the horrible way the National Championship game was called last year. You know it was bad when even Dook fans can see it. The NCAA does not want UNC to win the championship. If we win it we will have to do it with 5 against 8."

I do feel bad for them. Every game it's 5 on 8, I know that, you know that, they know that and most importantly that damn NCAA knows it! Poor Tar Heels. Also I'm super hydrated after drinking their tears.
